Can't find comparison between the two.
But just for the hell of it, which one would be less sucky?
Longer freeze or bigger freeze?
I know skill sucks anyways but I am passing a game for the hell of it so, wanted to try cryo blast this time.
Deep cryo Blast or Full Cryo Blast?

Cryo blast does not suck.
Having said that, however .. longer duration is pointless. 'cos once frozen it takes no time at all to finish 'em with bullets.
The area freeze is useful if you have other area power support .. such as using cryo immediately after (squadmate's) overload or incinerate.
I've managed to freeze 4 targets at once with just 2 button presses, and it was sweet.

Using it may require a change in the way you play. Some people just don't play in a way that makes it useful. Think of it like this, once an enemy loses defense then you own him. Don't worry about killing just focus on keeping as many people frozen as possible. This should at least start to let you see how you can use this with the drone to effectively lock down 5-6 enemies or possibly more.
I use it to let myself go on melee rampages and too keep fire away from me. I tend to like using alternate methods of killing other than just shooting or tossing a damage spell so I find a unique way to do it. For example on dragon age my mage uses walking bomb + petrify + stone fist to cause a damaging explosion while it isn't the quickest way it is still very effective.
AS for the original question full cryo blast is better just because its better to get more than 1 target caught in it. Freeze time doesn't matter as long as they stay frozen as long as the cool down.
Ok that my have made very little since but if you can reload an area in which you can just concentrate on freezing people you may discover your own use for it.

Full Cryo. Essential for killing swarms of husks in one shot.

The area one.
Although, really, I'd just go with 1pt Cryo. Except on Mordin.

I prefer single target Cryo over AoE with it, simply due to the fact that finding fights that are non-husk based in which it works, to be few & far between. Were there more fights that would reward an AoE build like that, then I'd say go for it, as when it does pop up, AoE Cryo is freakin' sweet.
