Quite frankly, if they still havent fix those issues and give the customers more satisfactory of their DLCs. I'm sure the sales for DLC/exp pack will decline noticeably. Since i'm sure it's not only myself that felt we're being rob off by these rushed DLC/expansion packs.

The main game is great, however the DLC/exp pack isnt really meet the standard and the price wise.

I'm expressing my opinion on the matter in the loudest and clearest way a consumer can, by simply not buying into the product. While I'm positive that the actual campaign in Awakening is very well done, has great production value and is very enjoyable, I am more than a little disappointed with the way this "expansion" has been marketed and handled so far.

Hopefully, for my sake at least, that the concerns I have with the expansion: stability issues and the way they handled WK (even though I personally didn't purchase WK, it's more of the principle behind the stance they took on the matter) will be addressed by future, timely, patches. When that happens I'll happily show my support by buying into the xpack. While my faith in Bioware has been slightly tested, it isn't anywhere close to being lost.

I have to say though that I fully expect them to handle future releases better, especially that big ticket item coming out next year. (I'm looking at you SW:TOR!) I can't imagine myself buying into that should it be mishandled the same way DA:A was, and that would be a huge, huge disappointment.

Like some people felt, it would've been slightly better if the game & game mechanics were actually integrated into the gameplay of DA:O. But it looks like it just the story again. Gotta give Bioware credit for their story.

Nice letter but there is nothing you can say to change the fact that Awakening is an absolute unfinished product. To deliver such product shows what/how Bioware thinks about his fans. Only fanboys like their latest products like this eastern DLC or Awakening and in my opinion the complaints could also be a great chance for Bioware to develop Dragon Age 2 to an outstanding product.

I´ve payed 39 Bucks for this "product?".....it is my right to whine when I´m dissappointed.

I think the point of the letter though was to discuss the good points.

I for one, thought the Blackmarsh level was awesome. I really liked the feel of the place. And the Spectral Dragon was a nice touch.

Still, I wish there were less bugs, and more fleshing out of the story.

hello, first post,
I wont bother reading all of the answers here :) (read a few of them though, good stuff..)
just wanted to take this opportunity to express my points. First, there are a few bugs but they don't bother me much. I have no problem about the fact that my character imported from DAO was naked and unarmed in the first scene of Awakening. Funny, yes. Anticlimactic, sure. But the new character I created in her stead became just as dear to me, and frankly it felt quite nice to have those two storys sepparate from each other. Felt somehow more realistic (if there is such a thing), that these two heroes were not one and the same. Like I knew all through this expansion game that my first character was out there, somewhere, while this new adventure took place in this part of the world. I also loved the new NP-character Sigrun, her casteles story caught my heart somehow. Almost as dear became Velana, and the parts of the story that lead up to her joining. I actually liked all of the new characters except for that dwarf who carried over from the last game (but I just didn't accept him to my gang, problem solved ;). The combination of two great mages with different focus made the game extra interesting - and challenging - for me, as I never wanted to go out without both of them (leaving me with my main character as the only warrior in the group).
Also, the new areas were awesome, to the most part, especially the Black Marsh. The city of Amaranthine was a little dead but apart from that, great stuff..
As for game mechanics I truly enjoyed Wades services, and the whole building up an army and a fortress part. Being an arl (or arless?) felt quite nice, I guess. The story was a bit short, and sometimes buggy. But overall a nice ten-or-so hours spent.
I don't know, maybe you are right who claim that Bioware could do better. Maybe the next expansion will be even better (please let there be a next expansion), but for me this one was also great :P

Well yea, the storyline is great. The only complaints around are about the bugs (one in particularly make you lose all your main cha equipment totally), the totally no difficulty at all (nightmare mode is for kids), and the shortage of the storyline (if you compare the almost the same expansion price as dragon age full version)

If it's just a cheap price DLC/expansion with no severe bugs, i'm sure this product can get 8/10+ rating.
