I prefer to keep swearing to a minimum. Otherwise it loses impact when an occurrence warrants the extra oomph of a curse word. However, I do not as a rule disallow it. I'll only stop a child from doing so because it's crass under most circumstances and I don't want to encourage that.

Hahaha my son used to run around saying puck because he heard me saying **** so much playing video games. I do not encourage it but its quite funny when you hear it from your own kids but then you have to man up and pretend it's not funny and correct them.

The only thing my son's mother would not tolerate is when they copyed me when I made fun of typical black sayings like" hecky nall" or "oh snaps" to make fun of it. My son is mixed so his mother is black but he loves to make fun of everyone like me :P

Well, considering that my household consists of me and four computers, yes.

When I am at my mother's house, I do not use foul language out of respect to her. I also do not swear in front of my brother's school-age children unless I am very, very angry. And when I do, I donate to the swear jar.

It's...weird. I usually only swear when I'm alone, very angry, or when I'm quoting somebody else who was swearing. My parents don't disapprove of swearing, and they can both swear with the best of them (my dad's from Boston, and my mom's from New Jersey). I'm just weird, I guess.
...But I do like the way "f^_^ck" rolls off the tongue. Posted Image

Sometimes, you just have a moment where the only way to effectively voice your displeasure in a situation is to say,

"Motherf%@k"

Far, far too often.

I do try keeping my sailors mouth to a minimum, but sometimes sh%t happens.

I don't mind swear words as long as one doesn't go overboard or overkill -- meaning practically every other word in a sentence literally is $h!t or f_-k ... seriously, we get it. :D

But it just amazes me that "F*-K" can be used as a noun, verb, adjective, and/or idea. :)

My dad, brother, and I feel comfortable exchanging swear words back and forth like it's part of the convo. However, my mom acts like she's uncomfortable with it even though she'll swear like a sailor when she's arguing.

Usually if I am telling a story and quoting someone, or the situation merits a curse.

Also I am extremely comfortable swearing infront of family....but my brothers wife and her parents are not used to such use of a colorful vocabulary---I can still embarrass...score!

If it is used as an adjective for every thing, ie "I ****ing went to the ****ing store and I bought some **** for ****ing supper.'' Just sounds ignorant. Using it occasionally when you're upset can be a good stress reliever. I think moderation is key.

My mother got called a "fat **** (female dog if it's censored)" and told to die by a kid that couldn't be older than 6, then his friends joined in. We told their parents about what the kid said and they told us to "**** off!" and that their kids would "NEVER SWEAR".

This is similar to my perspective.

I do, however, frequently use BSG's "Frak" just because I find it hilarious :P
