Wow, your link to Dragon Age: 3 with multiplayer is scarying the crap out of me. Right when I hear that rumor is true, Dragon Age will be dead to me just like that. I hope they are just bs'ing, but seeing Dragon Age: 2, I'm still kind of worried.
I hope they take longer than 2 years, though. Even with a big staff, the game should take longer than 2 years. I would say that 3 years is a healthy amount of time to make a good game.

i think morrigan or the child (if you took that option) should be included in DA3.

Bioware needs to choose what the next PC will be: your own character, or a pre-defined character (like Geralt in The Witcher, for a perfect example.) No middle ground.
Assuming they're continuing the use of voiced PCs and paraphrasing dialogue wheels, they have to make a pre-defined character. It just awkward to roleplay a character the way you want when you can't play them as you wish (you don't know if what Hawke is going to say will match your expectations, for example), but at the same time can't roleplay a specific character because you simply weren’t given enough information about them.
Choose, Bioware: a silent, moldable, ambiguous figure you can create yourself (The Warden)... or a voiced, predefined and designed character (Geralt).
Also, don't f--- with our Wardens. If they appear as a NPC or a companion in later games, especially if they're voiced, that is f---ing with us. They are our characters, you gave us the ability to imagine them how we wanted. Either we have control of them, or nobody does.

I just hope we don't get a pre-determined character like in DA2. Maybe it's just me, but I like to build my characters from scratch in a roleplaying game. I don't like if appearance, voice, gender/race/class (or any combination thereof), background, etc. is forced upon you. It just doesn't feel like I'm playing my character but someone else's.
See, now, I agree with this, but this just wouldn't work with paraphrased dialogue wheels and, some may argue, voice acting at all. This is all fine with pre-determined characters - you get to choose the message of what they're trying to convey and they deliver the line, whatever it turns out to be, in their own way. Not with your own characters.
So Bioware really has three choices:
- scrap the voice acting and the paraphrasing, go back to Origins style conversating
- carry on, but with a character you're supposed to create yourself
- carry on, but with a predetermined character.
Number 1 is what I wish they will do... but they just won't, will they?
Number 2 is what happened in DA2, and the result was a hollow character that was just difficult to roleplay, due to being only partly defined as a character and subsequently impossible to wholey define yourself.
So I'm just hoping for Number 3, as it would be better than another Hawke, and another Warden-type character is but wishful thinking.

The end product was a rushed money grab and it showed. The game could have been an epic of epics, and instead of taking a step forward from origins, it takes a giant leap back.

It would seem that Bioware has quite a challenge ahead of them - Should they desire to go forth and attempt this gruesome task.

I think the dragon age three storyline should be along the lines of this

Nooo-o.. My Warden wouldn't go against the OGB, no matter if he was evil. (nor would he work with that Hawke guy) That would be ****ing with my warden.. and well, the OGB ending isn't canon - even though it really is the ending that seems to offer great possibilities for future plotlines, Bioware made there to be number of endings and this made it really hard to actually continue Dragon Age series straightforwardly - and I think there was some thing about Dragon Age being more about Thedas, which would imply a new main character in every game of the series, and you know, cosidering that the OGB - if he you know exists in the continuity - would, I achieve the full powers of his when he was actually rather much older, if not for any other reason, because of the fact that he is an Old God.
Does anyone else it find weird that Morrigan refers to the OGB as a male? - High Dragons are always female - Old Gods are thought to be High Dragons yet the OGB is referred to be as male - are Old Gods actually different from normal High Dragons.. This could be actual a rather interesting point to explore - even if no mention to the possible OGB need not be made.

Now as for my Warden, I have to say that I did get attached to that character, but I also did to Hawke as well. Sometimes having a good character, that everyone knows and cares about, die or move on just makes the story more engaging. Or maybe in this case, simply changing heroes each game allows the developers to change settings and story...whatever. But I am still looking forward to what was hinted at in the end of DA2.
Probably ranted for a little too much, sorry about that.

Altough the story is good.
Any way, Baldur's gate is still the best for me ...
