Has anyone noticed how da2 is supposed to be a 10 year campaign but finishes in 7?
Waiting on da3. Want my warden to return at somepoint. He is based on the choices i would make so i feel i have more of a connection with him. Also, i want to know what destiny mine and Morrigans child has!
It doesn't finish in 7. The fight between Meredith and Hawke is 7 years after, Varric's interrogation and the epilogue between Leliana and the Seeker are 10 years after.

yea i know thats what im saying to come out with dlc for DA2 dont just skip to DA3 and have DA 2 left a cliffhanger like that unless of course DA 3 continues it thats all im sayingJayDea wrote...
Erm, Matt... DA:O has been out since Nov 2009, DA:2 has been for 6 months... give 'em some time to make the DLC maybe? although I'm not sure any DLC would give me the motivation to go through another run of DA:2.

No no no no freaking new protagonist! Bioware my friend you better be reading this post. Or ill sue for hardcore dragon age fan cruelty and abuse
LOLz
The jury is still out for me on trying it - Ive only just tried DA:O luved it... still do - running thru all the DLCs now and Awakening.
I so get you on the fan cruelty - Im so attached to my character and her love interest and what Ive seen they have done to him doesnt bear thinking about... ooops
*reaches for medication*
Im trying to think of Anders as a side dish to help me thru all the pain ..... LOL
I dont know - this has been my first REAL rpg experience - up until now its been all MMO's mainly Dungeons & Dragons Online
I find this game better in so many ways - as grouping with real ppl can be a royal pain in the **** - I love approaching dungeons with tactics and teamwork - and working with NPCs is a dream come true - not to mention the added benefits of Tent Time at the end of each dungeon crawl

I liked that this game gave the opportunity to be rich, famous, exceptional. In Origins, I felt like I was just an average Joe until the very end and then it was over. If I want be an average Joe I'll just step away from the game and live my own life. In the game, I want to be filthy rich, praised, an exceptional mage, warrior, rogue.
I wasn't thrilled with the love interests in the game. As a female Hawk, my choices were 2 bigots: an angry elf or a crazy abomination. Sabastian would have been nice, if not for the whole "chased marriage" dialogue; that was a let down, a disappointment.
Combat in Dragon Age 2 was the best I have ever seen in any game that I have played. I like the way the characters move, the way I can set up the compat style for each character in the tactics screen, improved talent trees. I do miss the arcane warrior option because I do not like to put any of my male mages in a dress/robe.
I would like to see more clothing variety in Dragon Age 3. Since Hawk is the scion of the Amell family, armor with the Amell crest would have been nice. Thankfully someone at the DA Nexus web site thought of that.
I'm looking forward to Dragon Age 3. I am happy to hear that Hawk will be in the next one. I like the Hawk character.

The end of DA2 has set it up so it could involve both of them, I'll be pretty pissed if you can't play as either of them- even more so if you randomly see them in the game for like 5 seconds and then they're gone :|
If it really is the best of the two games combined, DA3 will be absolutely EPIC!
But we'll have to wait and see, as long as bio don't rush it and put a lot of effort into ALL aspects of the game it should be a winner
But I really do need more Hawke

In any case whether both camps of fans agree or not, the final decision on the direction of the franchise rests with Bioware and not the two groups of fans collectively. both groups of fans harcore and casual alike need to remember that at best we are just another of the multitude of voices at the very big table and either group of fans trying to assert their dominance over the other by claiming their opinion is more valid for whatever stated reason's will not help matters and both sides of the fans will lose out in the end.
I happen to be a fan who bought both games found DAO really dreary and "stale" and yet found DA2 had many "fresh" takes on what has become a very "stale" genre over the last 20 years,
sure there have been minor tweeks and improvements over the years but these have been almost so insignificant that you dont really notice them. Which likely explains the big OTT outburst of anger following the release of DA2 directed mainll at the same developers who worked on DAO, extensively featuring the words "betrayed" and many other such like words. While i welcomed the raft of changes in DA2 as something that was much need it was clearly too radical a step for some.
All fans on both sides should remember if even only for a brief second between highly charged emotional outbursts that while DAO was the 1st game in the DA franchise it is not the 1st RPG Bioware have made they have made many great RPG'sover the course of a decade and beyond, so if anyone knows what makes good RPG more than we the fans do then it is Bioware as a matter of personal recall the last time i witnessed an outburst of such ferocity was way back in the early 80's when the Commodore company brought in what was then the technological "revolution" that was the mouse because everyone had become accustomed to using a keyboard and a joypad and now we take the mouse for granted.
Fans of both DA2 and DAO may do well to follow the example of what those two groups of opposing computer users did back in the 80's did over the mouse and the joypad agree to disagree over the pros and cons of each sit back relax and calm down and dont take a design change to something you have become accustomed to so personally because becoming overheated and over emotional does neither yourself or the other fans any favours in the eyes of the company involved of the public at large.
Its this particular flavour of emotional investment and dogged resistance to change of any kind to something that has not changed much if at all in 20 years that has resulted in the General public's misconception that all RPG players are 40yr old beardy men with no friends etc that i'm fairly sure most RPG fans are aware of already, its also that same misconception about RPG gamers and RPG's in general that puts large groups of gamers off playing and potentially enjoying RPG's.
So maybe if we were all a little more forgiving of a change being made to a tried and tested format then maybe we will all benefit in the end from having fresh eyes on the subject and who knows you might find yourself pleasantly surprised at what results

Awakening is not DAO2, DAO2 will not come out for a long time. Awakening is an ep.
That said. Awakening was disappointing to a lot of fans. But I love the Battle Mages, mix with Arcane Warriors and Spirits healers and you get a potent combination.
I would also like to see another expansion pack, longer, deeper than Awakening. There is no news on anything, but I think it would be foolish to expect anything before August. Even that might be too soon. Expect more DLC instead, that will happen sooner I think.
Hold the phone! There is suppose to be a Dragon Age Origins 2? So Dragon Age 2 and now Dragon Age 3 are completely separate from Origins. So that's why they had Hawke in DA2, and now a new character in DA3.
So what's coming out first, DA3 or DAO2? I say **** Hawke and the new guy, and go straight for the Warden. Level 35 Warrior that kicks serious ass with Morrigan at his side, FTW.
