I think instead of a new main character you get to play through the after story of the warden and hawk. kinda like you could pick the different origins in DA:O

That's what I would like. Let the players choose. Sure, for some Warden is the past, but for many, me included, he's not. Why should he be past after only 7 years?

I think Warden will appear in DA3, in one way or another.
I just hope that if he is, they will not mess up with his LI. Especially Zevran. Image IPB

While i had no love for the Warden, i cant say i was besotted with Hawke either, but for me I'm glad the Warden only got a passing mention in DA2 because after playing DAO and all its dlc made my dissatifaction with the Warden even worse as his story was pretty much dome and dusted by the end of the core game making the DLC feel like nothing more than a cash cow dragging a characters story on way beyond the point at which it was clearly over just for additional profit which meant that i went from totally bored with the Warden at only completing 50% of the core game to having a urge to just kill the Warden off and be done with it forever by the end of all the DLC.

That was bad enough for me, but the biggest killer of the whole game for me that despite the so called epic story it was nothing more than a generic and very cliche'd trudge around and save the world from imminent destruction, so while i'd like more of a story than you got from DA2 i sincerely and with all the greatest of respect to those who love DAO hope that we never ever return to a another generic save the world from its own stupidity.....again or yet another Grey Warden since the idea of playing a character that will die in 30 years due to the blight infection no matter what you do
gives a whole sense of "whats the point in even trying at all" to the game much like Bungie did with the main PC in halo reach

I never had the feeling that the Warden's story was 'done and dusted' by the end of the DAO. The saving of the country done, now was the time to really start Warden's story. I was so disappointed that DAA didn't respect Warden's personal choices, but it opened several interesting issues about darkspawn - and there were hints about it in DA2 too, so I think they will definitely continue with it.

And for me, the fact that the Warden keeps fighting despite knowing that even in case of victory he will not live very long is what it makes more interesting and not just 'save the world, be the hero, live happily ever after'.

But as i said - what I'd like is to have an option to play either with the Warden, Hawke or completely new character. Why not let everyone choose what they prefer most? I don't think it would be so impossible...

I dont think its impossible to allow us to have a choice of all 3 either was kinda why i said what i thought was my own individual opinion and with no disrespect to anyone who like the warden.

my post also highlights the catch 22 situation that when you've played games as long as i have you've pretty much seen it all before so it loses its appeal compared to younger gamers

what i think would really be good is if they even put in the option to become a quanari. it could give the game a new perspective

Um, I just finished playing Dragon Age Origins Awakening on Hard, and beat the entire game in exactly
19 Hours, 52 Minutes, 28 Seconds.

I am waiting on Dragon Age 3 ^-^, OF Course The darkspawn had to have survived somehow now, you cant tell me this is the end.

And damn right it was an easy game even on hard, 3x Mages, All Keepers, Battle Mages, and Spirit Healers, Spam Heals Like Crazy, and its all over powered, with one tank of your choice in super ninja armor. Yeah too easy.

If you want the game to be more of a challenge then use a less overpowered party. *facepalm*

Although in many ways I would like my Warden's story to continue - somehow they will have to ressurrect the old Zev - I dont mind the looks of the other elves - but Zev *crys*

I think having the new Zev back in 3 will be like waking up after a long heavy night on the booze and looking at what you slept with the night b4 and saying WOWZA Im so not drinking again - EVAH !

Im getting slightly more used to his looks - or maybe a clever modder can do a re-morphy thingy - that would work yea !

I did feel at the end of awakenings a mixed sense of done or continuation

Cant say why coz I just checked spoilers are not allowed in this forum - so maybe discussion can move elsewhere to a more rant friendly area LOL...

I did feel extremely connected to Zevran during Awakenings due to a little thing that turns up - and after researching some on DA2 I found your choices are respected in DA2 except for a game bug - so I totally feel the writers didnt let me down and am in a better frame of mind to give DA2 a shot.

I want my Warden back! I already made MANY decisions as my warden and would like to see the finished product of my Warden. Hawke may have made a lot of decisions, but that effected only one city... My Warden effected races, villages, cities, and a freaking country and to just have him disappear like that... Plus, I would like him to kick Zevran's cheating ass...

I also believe that Sandal will be heavily implemented into DA:3 because of his creepy dialogue I got with him in DA:2 and his odd ability.

I want them to keep DA:2's combat style though, the long award swings of a warrior, the long one bolt shot of mages, and the slow way rogues hit in DA:O was really boring. I like quick, BING BANG BOOM! Plus, I don't give a damn about Morrigan, she had a child with Alistar, and I only expect that child to be the last boss or something and then we spear Morrigan through her tiny **** heart.

If they do a Dragon age 3, well of course they will I am sure, I hope they make it as awing as Dragon Age: Origins.

I have played every possible scenarios of DA:O.  And still after the 100th time I play the game... I get to laugh and cry and feel amazed.  Strangely I have not felt the same with DA:2. It didn't seem as grand- played twice and that is all, somehow it didn't warrant more. There was nothing comparing to the shivers that ran up back when I went through the Deepraods the first time in DA:O for example.

I want a happy ending for my warden and Alistair after all - however many years they have left :P

What i want personally? Nothing more and nothing less than 150% epic game. So deep story, that weaker people and kids will ****** their own pants during game, especially in cutscenes.

So I want make a choices like destroy whole Chantry or unroot Quanari power. I want decide about conquer of Minrathous and see a Kal Sharok or try to reborn power of magisters over the world, stronger than ever. View on glorious Starkhaven city above giant Minanter River. Zevran as ruler of Antiva in practice, Oghren as Grey Warden Commander with longer beard, Shale in mortal state, called as "Tiny Bird Destroyer" now.
Meeting between Velanna and Merrill, two Dalish Pariahs, in the name of Elven race in unending degradation. Sea battle included Sirens Call II. and Templar ship in Isabela name.

Hawke as powerful leader of templar or mage side, lord of Order or Chaos.

And my Warden as most mysterious person, still working in shadows, with face behind the mask, and without voice.

Personally i want to do more with the warden. I liked Origins, awakenings, and DA:2 and all the DLC. it was all worth the time and money. The story line was entertaining and i was stuck time and time again thinking about how my choices would effect the world. More than once i was surprised about storyline curve-balls that made me go "WTH?!". Overall i am very pleased with the series and i want to see more lots more. More full games more full expansions more DLC. I want to play as Hawke and the Warden in full content games with deep story that has wide reaching results.
The part i didn't like about Origins is it was too short.
the part i didn't like about Awakenings is the companions were too flat.
the part i didnt like about DA2 was the time skips were just un-enjoyable story fluff that i would have rather played through and made my own choices.
I look forward to WHATEVER bioware does next. I will buy it.
I am sure my opinion is not a popular one however so what i am guessing will happen is one more hero to the line up with short game-play and massive time jumps. eh i will still play the game but not enjoy it as much as i would like.

Maybe something where the Warden and Hawke clash, and our new main character has to choose sides? If Hawke is still involved in the story and our Warden is not, that would feel like such a low blow. For all of the talking he did, Hawke doesn't have half the depth the Warden has. I've got nothing against Hawke, he's/she's your typical cardboard-cutout 'hero', but the Warden feels much more 'human', even if he/she was an elf or dwarf. Warden somehow has a much more universal AND hardcore fan appeal.

Return of most interesting NPCs from older games (for example - DAO: Lanaya - DA2: Athenril) cannot be wrong choice too.

If the origin story line, the da2 storyline can be taken over to the DA3 story it would be awesome, It would be really cool, if it was a new hero, from different backgrounds which you can choose from, but even maybe include your warden and your hawke, that u sellected into your party as a team member wow now that would intense. very hard a maybe not but still i can dream haha. DA:origins i do love to play a few times over, DA2 getting a little tired as it dont change much from each charecter. I just cant wait for DA3 and hope it arrives like yesterday lol

I don't get why people think this. My longest playthrough of DAO is 72 hours. That's 20 hours more than my longest DA2 playthrough.

Then again, i complete every available quest.

With the way they've been going, DA3 will have nothing to do with the other two stories. You'll have a better chance playing as a Genlock warrior princess than either the Warden or Champion...

For the record, the only thing I liked about DA2 was combat. In DA:O, I loved everything. Just mentioning this to provide a more meaningful post.

However, I would like to also mention that when you try to please the world, you wind up pleasing nobody. Marrying the best content and bits from both games is a huge task, something similar to which you claimed to be trying to do with DA2 at one point. I don't know if it's impossible, but if time is a constraint for you in the same manner that DA2 was, then I don't see why this is being considered at all.

Additionally, it's true that Bioware has fans that loved the game and fans that absolutely hated it. My personal opinion is that they need to settle on a target market and just stick with it. It's better to be an absolute warrior in a particular area rather than just a presence in all.

Eh? First of all, you quoted it wrong. Second, please don't tell me what my Warden is to me. That's between him and me. ;)

I do not think they will ever make a game as incredible as DA:O again. I'm just now playing Awakening and it is just boring and depressing as hell. No interesting releationship building, no depth, lacks the amazing storyline- it feels like such a "lonley" game compared to DA:O :( They tried desperatly in Awakeinging to replicate the party banter as in DA:O and failed miserably; it's actually pathetic to listen to.

DA:O was/is such an incredible game. Sadly, I'm certain we will never have such a wonderful game to enjoy playing again- unless they make a proper sequel to DA:O and finish the Warden's story.

my dream would be for bioware to make up to DA5, with the hero from 1-4 going missing after their respective journeys, and then in the fifth you find out where they all went and then you import all your previous characters and kick some ass <3

My expectations are really low knowing the Warden is gone and hearing there won't be a royal heir. I honestly feel it's simply better to switch over to Skyrim and its DLC.
