I don't think they should use the same engine...they should use a new engine like mass affect. That should work best.

Yes to Alistair!  Ideally I hope they don't make it like Awakening where there's an new companion every couple of hours. I liked when they threw you off with the option of: "Why don't you come with me?" to characters that were never companionable.
I'd love to see a mixture of DAO and DA2 characters along wth one or two new ones (or recurring characters) as companions. For example: Alistair, Morrigan, Zevran and maybe Oghren along with Fenris, Isabella and maybe a reformed Anders. And for the recurring, I'd like to see Sandal or Feneral (from Dalish Origins)

Mass Effect uses UE3 all the way through and both DA:O engines are loosely based on it too as far as i can tell.

I think they should have Flemmeth as the main antagonist in DA3 and have the option to play as either the Warden as you start off in Ferelden (assuming s/he is still there) or the Champion (wherever in blazes s/he went off to after DA2).

Would be interesting how the importing system would result, if it is at all possible.

Not sure if what I said was already posted; I just skimmed the thread. >>

They've had the importing system in the first 2 games-I don't see why you couldn't have it in the 3rd. I actually think it is necessary, given that most of the DAO companions have the potential to be killed. I did let Anora kill Alistair, so I'd be disappointed if he returned. An importing system would allow Alistair to return for players who chose for him to live, and let him stay dead for those like me who chose that path.

I would love to see Leliana return as a companion in DA3. She kept popping up during DA2, so I have a feeling she's going to have a role in the third game.

It'd be awesome to  import your DAO characters over to DA3 as playable, but it's extremely unlikely that will happen. :(

What I want most  is the return of the mass variety of character orgins to choose from. I don't want to end up playing another Hawke/Shepard clone.

I think the Dragon Age franchise is phenomenal. I know alot of people thought that DA II didn't live up to Origins but I thought it was amazing. I loved the character development and how the story was more personally intertwined with Hawke versus the Warden rushing around to save all of Ferelden in Origins. Although I do wish you would have seen more characters from Origins other than the few seconds of Alistair or Leliana. Or atleast find out what happens to them all through conversation.

I want Dragon Age 3 to be here now but I have to say I'm a little worried about the direction it might be going. All of the "Dragon Age 3 inspired by Skyrim" nonsense is easily the worst possible thing anyone can say. I love Bioware but I can honestly say I feel like they stabbed me in the back with that... I mean here I am constantly defending them and their products to Skyrim fanatics and they pull a stunt like that. I think Skyrim is trash. It's just pointless side quests and unimpressive "random" encounters to supplement supposed "300" hours of gameplay with a rock-em sock-em robot combat system. There is no point in all those hours of gameplay if the gameplay is complete trash.

Who am I kidding though... because of the faith and admiration I have in Bioware and the Dragon Age team I'd probably still buy DA 3 even if they told me it was a copy of Skyrim with the title scratched out and Dragon Age written over it with sharpie :D

I have read many forums about dragon age origins and dragon age 2.So what i got from them is most people prefered dragon age origins to da2.I think da2 is not a bad game ,but it does'nt feel like it's part of dragon age.If not for codexes and cameo's of previous party member it really does'nt feel like it fits in. ( I apologize for any spelling mistake as english is not my first language)

What I feel is that bioware have treated core fan of dragon age origins very unfairly. It's like they're say thank you for your suport and dedication to the game here a slap in the face called dragon age 2 and just because your such loyal fan and we know how many hours you spend on you wardens making decisions ect and knowing the wardens are the pillars of the dragon age story here a slap on the other cheek...your warden's story is finished ..that's right the warden will not face the consequences of decision made in dragon age origin, but not to worry you'll find a codex or see a cameo of well somebody.

It also seems that bioware has lost more dao fans than gained da2 fans( I might be wrong, but that's the opsevatons I made..., there's alot of angry fans) but yet it feels like they're more worried about pleasing the new fan than the old!?

I say give the fans waht they WANT.Let them choose the main character they want.
Hawke's story does'nt feel finished so if you want choose him/her
The same for the warden. The story does'nt feel done and I'd like to see him/her handle concequense of previous decision. There might not be another blight ,but i renember my warden getting involved with politics when ozammar and ferelden needed kings. No doubt they'll run to the warden if they need assistance with something.
Or choose a new character if your sick of Hawke or warden.

And yes this can be done, not eveyone is technically challenged. It might take a bit more effort ,but it is possible.almost as in origins where caracters have diffrent background stories and dialogue changes but maine story still stays the same.
This might be the best way of keeping everyone happy and get more fans.

Does anyone feel that bioware is'not really taking fan's feed back seriosly? And that they''re just patronising the fans. They're still going to do waht they want to even if fans object.

Morgan Rose pretty much said it. I didn't mind Dragon age two, but it wasn't a proper  sequel to Origins. I understood that it had big shoes to fill, but I feel that Bioware could have done much much more with Dragon age 2. It was a massive disappointment for most Origins players.

As I said before, it's unlikely Bioware will make the Warden playable again, but I really feel Bioware shouldn't just say" Lol The Hero of Ferelden's story is finish. New character!!!"  What I loved about Mass Effect was how you could play your Shepard from the previous game.  It was my Shepard. All my actions from the last game came back to either haunt or reward him. It was always great to have him meet characters from the last game like they were old friends. Everyone knew him as such.  Your character was this battle hardened veteran rather than this random newbie. Why can't they do this in Dragon age 3?

I love both games a lot. and I can not wait for the new one. I do not care where it takes place, as long as I get to kick some butt :D <3 I do hope they bring back being a elf, or a drawf. It really adds into the way other people treat you, and how the romance happens. in DA2, it was so dulled down. I have played DA:O and DA: A so many times, I knew like every word they say before they say it. but i could not get into DA:2 as much, since they dialoge was dumbed down but the quests were just as fun though, the caves got boring though. ohwell. IM SO EXCITEEEEEEEEDDDD. (:

There is nothing wrong on having a new character. I think it is a way of building history in the world of dragon age and having grand stories of heroes. But I don't think they should finish the story of the warden and if they do they should do it properly. Like have the warden die protecting the new hero like how Duncan died when he was angry about the death of his king. And then have a another moment where you play as the warden when they go to the other side. Like alitser died to save me and slay the arch demon and I would love if he was there to guide me to the side of the maker and for him to say "the world is closer to a better end" have you go and rest in piece. Have the warden have a proper end.

Dragon age 2 is awsome no doubt, but it's trying to be mass effect.
Dragon age 2 should have allowed you to be a dwarf or an elf, have at least 1 dao companion and the darkspawn should have been a bigger enemy.
Also keeping hawke contained to just kirkwall was a bad idea its like they tryed to be mass effect and failed. you get the conversation wheel which is awsome in mass effect but should have stayed there.
da3 will hopefully take after dao but i doubt bioware will go back to the dao style of gaming.

I personally loved both DA:O and DA2 I think that a mixture of both of them for dragon age 3 will be perfection! I loved the fighting and movement in DA2 it was much faster, fluid, and natural. Having your character speak and have a conversation and personality was amazing and added so much more character to the game! The graphics especially the characters eyes looked a lot better in DA2 but there's not as many hair colors and the shape of your face and your lips can't really be changed like in DA:O. I really felt that my Hawke was that much more real and I cared about her more. I also like the romance better in DA:O because the characters will initiate romance with you were as in DA2 you have to initiate the romance to start one which isn't as realistic. Also in DA:O you had strait characters and bi characters but in the second everyone is bi besides DLC Sebastian. I feel like just making everyone bi doesn't make sense for a lot of the characters personalities and it's unrealistic that everyone is bi just be true to the characters! I liked that you had a house and family members in DA2 but I didn't care for the fact that you couldn't choose your race. Every time you make a new character you have to go through the same beginning which gets a little repetative. I loved the way the story was told by Varric and over a period of time! But, like many people have said staying in the same city the entire game and having the same locations did get dull. I liked the characters in both games but probably DA:O more because I adored Alistair and Liliana and Morrigan were great! I love Varric and Aveline and Fenris in DA2 and I honestly love all of the characters but a lot of them choose to do the wrong thing and have biased that makes it hard to do the right thing and please them. I definately want to see characters like Alistair, Liliana, Morrigan, and Wynne again! And have them in our parties! The game definately has to be way longer cuz I loved he games so much I don't want them to end as soon as they do! I also think they should change it back to where we learn specializations from people in the game and have more options. Anyways those are just my thoughts on what I would love the next chapter in my favorite game franchise to be! I love dragon age and think it should stay true to what it is an RPG game based on Baulder's Gate and a game where the characters and people are extremely real not just a point and shoot!

Also as a quick side note. My previous post was ridiculously long. I think we should be able to talk to our companions whenever we want like in the DA:O not just when they want and something important happens like in DA2. Also I want to be able to randomly kiss the person I'm in romance with like in DA:O (:
