Hehe. You are kidding, right? If Asus is able to have a world wide competition then all of a sudden EA cannot do the same? Try to think.
Which Asus competition are you talking about? I've used Asus products for years and watch many computer hardware news sites (some not American) but never heard of any world-wide contest.

That's one way to go about it. Another
way is to assign responsibility squarely at the feet of the entities
responsible for this event (i.e. BioWare and EA).
So, it's the event's organizers fault that they can't hold a contest in two states because those states limit promotional marketing?

im from california and am eligible to "play" this event, but i personally have no interest in doing so.
i should be allowed to bid on behalf of someone else who wants to but cant.

I dunno. Don't want to whinge too much, but it is kind of disappointing seeing as Bioware has a significant fanbase in other countries as well, it's kind of like "Screw you other countries, this is for US only!" *flips off*

You are trying to change the premises of the argument. Somewhat disingenuous of you in my opinion. As far as I'm aware no one appears to be seriously suggesting that BioWare/EA are responsible for the legislation that exists in various federal states and/or in other countries and territories around the globe. What I and apparently many other people are complaining about is the way this event has been executed. Given the scope of BioWare's and EA's operations different regulations in different places should hardly come as a surprise to them (and given their sales of various products in other countries one would expect that they have at least some passing familiarity with said countries legislation). No Mallissin, you appear to be trying to "pass the buck" and I'm calling you on it. No one (presumably) forced BioWare nor EA to hold this "Bazaar" nor announce it far and wide - that is all of their own doing and thus they bear the sole responsibility as to how it plays out.

YES. Yes. Bioware twirled their evil corporate moustaches, selected a few US states at random, and gave the finger to the rest of the world because they were in the mood for being colossal pricks. Thre is obviously reasons for why this is. For whining about "not being apart of the community" anymore, some of you are still actively posting in it.
I don't think this something worth getting your knickers in a twist about.
You are entitled to your opinion just as I'm entitled to mine. Apparently they do not coincide on this occasion.

I don't think Bioware could afford a world Auction period. It would kill them as a company, but its just stupid there own Canadians can't be in on that contest as well. Stupid move on their part in a big way. I'm a yankee and I could bid. I just don't want to start a twitter account, because I think twitter is for twits!
Perhaps, yet the amount of prizes needn't be increased thus keeping that expenditure the same. What might change would be the cost of shipping which I have a difficult time believing neither BioWare nor EA nor the events' sponsors are able to afford. That they may not want to absorb that added cost is another matter. Still, that is speculation on my part.

While I'm all for Euro-contest and live there myself, how about one for the whole friggin' world?
Just read the news of the "great announcement counter" myself. I blame EA and Fox News and Canada, for god only knows why. <_<

IF you think about it though if you do a world event its going to be very expensive and you basically telling people around the world they could get something cool. The problem is I don't think bioware nor EA has that kind of cash to pump out for sending things world wide. Its like the chinese stimulus your pushing some serious buttons on your finances.
