It has to be said, there's only SO many times they can hype stuff that turns out to be crap, before people stop paying attention to their hype.
They lost a lot of goodwill from people with the whole Collector's Edition debacle (with how little exclusive content it really had, and the Cerberus Network card advertising).
They lost a lot more when it turned out they'd exaggerated the choices that carry-over from ME1 to ME2.
They lost some more from some people (not me, I add) who were disappointed with the Hammerhead and felt that it had been overhyped but was really a very short waste of time.
I still consider myself a fan of Bioware's games, but they really shouldn't waste what goodwill they have remaining by pulling stuff like this. Like I said, there's only so many times you can hype a bunch of crap before people stop believing anything else you want to build hype for.
Now you just went a little bit overboard and some of your claims are debatable, but your right, hype can be poisen at times.

I agree lol I'm happy with everything Bioware has produced including the Collecter's edition, Cerberus Netwrok and Hammerhead.

And here it is.
You know, I was thinking the exact same thing. Now every time I complete the suicide mission Im going to think back to this massive failure. Seriously, what the F*** was BW/EA thinking?

You me and a lot of us Skilled Seeker. Just because BioWare goes and does something royally stupid like this doesn't mean we should just "dismiss" them as a company.Skilled Seeker wrote...

what the hell Bioware what was this for???
all this energy could not be used for, you know, improve the game? give patches? create DLC? Fix issues???

I'm not saying that I personally felt all of the above ( I enjoyed ME2, and all of the DLC thus far) but they're all genuine examples that SOME people have objected to. You could also add the "Disappointed by the reduction in traditional RPG elements" folks to that list.
All I'm saying is that if they keep hyping things that disappoint a whole bunch of people, eventually EVERYONE will belong to at least a couple of those bunches. Which isn't good.
Can you honestly say you won't be skeptical the NEXT time Bioware tries to hype some unknown "Epic" event?

Those who create the game and who who make silly false claims like this one are probably completely different individuals. So yes, you are right. We shouldn't hate on the company, but I don't see why we shouldn't get mad at such a crappy hype.
