One of my friends used to run some link generator for a web game he played in which you got more troops for more link clicks.  You could just click one link and it would keep sending you to new ones. I'll call him after work and see if its possible to use with anything else.

Thanks for the offer Blood Burger it is much appreciated but someone has already offered a solution.  I'm just waiting to hear from Chris whether or not it is kosher.  Don't want anyone else or myself to get in trouble by my posting it.

Also, Snap Links Plus is an addon I installed for this. Zoom way out, right click and drag a box around all of the links and it will open all of them in new tabs - but be careful opening too many tabs as it will make firefox crawl. You may want to just wait a while so they all load and close firefox alltogether to avoid having to manually close hundreds of tabs
