I'd like to participate in the Bioware Bazaar but alas I am a resident of Florida. Why no love for the Floridians Bioware? Are you jealous of our lush beaches and warm winters? I can understand the hate for New Yorkers. After all, have you ever met a polite New Yorker (I kid, I Kid)?

Seriously though what's the deal. What legal mumbo jumbo forced you to exclude us, and can I still participate if I just use an address in another state or will this be an issue of a tax related nature (thus screwing us from participating entirely)?

A fellow Floridian!

I feel your pain. This is silly, honestly.

An impolite New Yorker here...

I choose to believe BioWare lives in fear of our undisputed greatness and superiority above all other states. (Hey, if I'm going to get called impolite by default, then forget ettiquette and modesty. :P)

This did come as a surprise to me, but I'll live. I can only imagine they're excluding us based on legalities of some sort. What that could be, I have no idea. For the record, no I don't believe NY is the greatest, ect ect. (Although it *is* better than *some* states. So there. :P)

They're exluding New York because no doubt it'll get attacked by a monster or a German will want to blow up some school and lead an investigator across Manhattan and Bioware don't want to deal with the inconveniences of Godzilla and Bruce Willis.

This is true. Bruce Willis is reason enough for me not to deal with NY and I live here.

I'd like to point out the fact that not all of us New Yorkers are from NYC, and have the impolite stereotype. <_<

I'm rather irritated that they have it open to every state other than NY and Florida. It's like a double slap in the face. People from other countries can't even participate, and I feel bad for them. But we're at least from the country the event is being held in, and we can't participate either.

"To show our appreciation of fan support and to celebrate the 15th anniversary of BioWare, we have created the BioWare Bazaar- unless you are from Florida or New York, then it sucks to be you, and you don't get to come to our party~"

Maaaan, and I was really going to gun for the Mass Effect 2 PC's.

I would imagine there must be state laws prohibiting certain types of contests and NY and Florida have such laws. It's much like a lot of contests in Canada that exclude Quebec due to provincial laws.

Hehe, but the Cubans are mostly concentrated in Miami(I should know, I live in Miami). Old people don't just play Sudoku and Crossword Bio!

from the contest rules...

This Contest is only open to residents of the 50 United States and the
District of Columbia with the exception of residents of Florida and New
York

So are Florida and New York no longer even a part of the 50 United States? I missed that.

My grandma used to play Zelda games before she died.

I can't imagine anyone playing Dragon age in my family, except for maybe my dad. And that won't happen, because I'm hording my copy of it.

Does anyone else find it funny that they include DC? Considering DC isn't technically a state, yet they disclude NY and Florida. When DC is usually the only place in the US discluded from things like this?

So you guys don't read your laws much in NY and FL, I take it. Let me put it this way: When your states have law firms devoted to Promotions and Rebates Law, your state is not a good one for random marketing contests. I'm just sayin'.

Move to Illinois. They've heard of laws there, but they don't believe in 'em.
