Well, if they're giving stuff away I can't really complain.

I'd be curious as to why they made the decision to localize it though. If it were a matter of legalities or simply convenience. Probably some of both, but I'm going to lean towards legalities. Which is unfortunate.

I for one am very excited about this. It is a great way for Bioware to give back to the community with legitimate real-world prizes. And enough complaining about DLC... not only was ME2 itself great enough to not warrant any DLC, but we just received the Hammerhead and are about to receive the Katsumi DLC. What more could one want?

I do wish that it would be open to all though... but I guess all cannot be perfect.

Hmmph. I guess Florida is part of Canada. Oh well  *Goes off to drink beer, play hockey and harass a moose.*

It's a shame I can't give my points to someone who can actually do this thing. :pinched:

there is some law in FL and NY that makes this contest illegal write to your state congress person

I've won a few things, A month ago I won a Xbox 360 from IGN - Don't tell me it's illegal z.z; Every other contest is held country wide, this one is country wide, but won't ship to New York and Florida? That's ****ed.

I'd understand if BioWare titles were region restricted, but... Yeahhh.

Live in the UK? Then ignore BioWare and its "Fan Appreciation".

Pointless.

"Epic" announcement...

The whole thing is kinda messed up. It is nice that they're giving away some free stuff, but it is really unfair about non-us getting left out (especially Canada, being BioWare's own home).

I do qualify, but what I find odd is the whole referral link stuff. Basically the people who have huge followings on twitter and facebook have a huge advantage over those who do not. I myself have sworn off facebook and only just created a twitter account to take part in the "challenge." The twitter challenge itself is a bit of a joke, considering it looks more like they are doing research on player preferences instead of actually having "challenges." I was very surprised to see questions like "who is your favorite character from Dragon Age:Origins?" That is opinion based...

The way they announced this was bs, so many people were hoping for info on the next Dragon Age and Mass Effect games. A patch to fix the dex bug in Dragon Age would have been better than this in my opinion.

I have an odd feeling that the winners of those art branded PCs will most likely sell them for huge wads of cash on ebay.

The whole thing could have been done better, but I'll see how the auction goes anyways...totally expecting to get disappointed.

It really is not that obvious?  Let me spell it out.

BioWare (or perhaps I should say EA) have a partnership with all of these companies, including the social networks.  Most likely, money changed hands somewhere.

The contest is designed to attract more people to sign up for the social networks.

The social networks make more money as a result, since they sell the personal information of their users as advertising data.

BioWare gets free advertising from fans madly spamming links to all their other friends, which in turn leads to more signups, which leads to more advertising, etc.

So basically, the "celebration" of BioWare's 15th anniversary is an overblown (and highly transparent) marketing campaign.

This Epic Fail just keeps continuing. If I dont twitter and have no desire to twitter this means me and those like me are out of points, assuming you live in one of 48 states where you can participate.

I thought I would create another character by downloading the character creator. I made a new character and as I go to upload I am told I reached max number of files. To rub salt in the wound, since I hit max it wont finish upload, however, I cannot click "OK" to clear the message because the Uploading files message is on top of it so I just lost the time I spent desiging a new character.

Seriously Bioware I thought you were smarter than all this.

EPIC FAIL

QQ Europeans. I'm sure Bioware will give ya'll something in the future. Keep in mind if the majority of the world had access to this contest it would be complete chaos and there would not be enough awards. I myself am hoping I get something beyond a hat.

I Have No Problem with the Actual Contest/Bazaar... What i have issues too is it not being Handled Slightly more... Pragmatically.

As it stand it feels like this...

"Say you ready for that contest we're doing?"

"Huh, What contest?"

"You know the one for the Community, where we're giving away stuff and the like..."

"Crap that was NOW? But i've not gotten half the stuff ready?"

"Well too late.. the Announcements up."

"Crap... Well then.. looks like we'll just have too Forget there's a world outside of the US. Ow and New York... they owe me money."

"Yeah and Florida... they get too much sun too care about computer goodies"

Honestly though.... that is how it feels...

(Yes... i'm Sterotyping too an Amount)
