I'd be curious as to why they made the decision to localize it though. If it were a matter of legalities or simply convenience. Probably some of both, but I'm going to lean towards legalities. Which is unfortunate.

It's a shame I can't give my points to someone who can actually do this thing.

I do qualify, but what I find odd is the whole referral link stuff. Basically the people who have huge followings on twitter and facebook have a huge advantage over those who do not. I myself have sworn off facebook and only just created a twitter account to take part in the "challenge." The twitter challenge itself is a bit of a joke, considering it looks more like they are doing research on player preferences instead of actually having "challenges." I was very surprised to see questions like "who is your favorite character from Dragon Age:Origins?" That is opinion based...
The way they announced this was bs, so many people were hoping for info on the next Dragon Age and Mass Effect games. A patch to fix the dex bug in Dragon Age would have been better than this in my opinion.
I have an odd feeling that the winners of those art branded PCs will most likely sell them for huge wads of cash on ebay.
The whole thing could have been done better, but I'll see how the auction goes anyways...totally expecting to get disappointed.

BioWare (or perhaps I should say EA) have a partnership with all of these companies, including the social networks. Most likely, money changed hands somewhere.
The contest is designed to attract more people to sign up for the social networks.
The social networks make more money as a result, since they sell the personal information of their users as advertising data.
BioWare gets free advertising from fans madly spamming links to all their other friends, which in turn leads to more signups, which leads to more advertising, etc.
So basically, the "celebration" of BioWare's 15th anniversary is an overblown (and highly transparent) marketing campaign.

I thought I would create another character by downloading the character creator. I made a new character and as I go to upload I am told I reached max number of files. To rub salt in the wound, since I hit max it wont finish upload, however, I cannot click "OK" to clear the message because the Uploading files message is on top of it so I just lost the time I spent desiging a new character.
Seriously Bioware I thought you were smarter than all this.
EPIC FAIL
