snip- a lot of pointless drivel from someone thinking they are ENTITLED to respond to my posts.

(Also, do not try the "this does not affect you" argument. I have missed out on contests only open to Canada/Europe/*insert country name here* before and have moved on. I am only applying logic in this case.)

Oh, you mean the contest with a huge banner that says "community".
I bet that those contest were announced as only eliglble for those countries/locations.

No matter how you look at it , this was a total fail.
Why would you hype for ALL fans when only 10% can participate.
What's even more pathetic, explain how I as a NON participant have tokens for this contest.

As I and others have said, they could have just made a forum announcement regarding the contest.

They brought it upon themselves, the old adage " you reap what you sow" comes to mind.

The counter made people mad, waiting on a epic event. Just to hear you are excluded...

Maybe they should have planned something that isn't a contest.

a new small DLC for free that is just a little joke and a celebration to their fans.

Or just made a flash game like they made for dragon age, as a joke.

I bid 5970 tokens for a fun community event.

The sense of entitlement here is hilarious.
Keep posting guys!

Paying money for their products and actually have an account on their so called community would VERY MUCH make us ENTITLED.

I hear there is a short pier you can take a long walk on.

You don't honestly believe that ............. do you?

Sure I do.

It's how they handled the whole thing. How are we not entitled to respond when they said 'COMMUNITY" in the countdown.

We are here we have social accounts we pay for their products, in case you completely missed it you get MOST tokens by PAYING bioware money.

So absolutely we are entitled to respond and show our disdain for this debacle.
They brought it upon themselves with how they did it.
A post in the forum as an announcement that they will have a Bazaar and that they can UNFORTUNATLY only make it available to US citizens would have been a lot better.

Seriously , they hyped an event which the WHOLE Bioware community payed attention to.
You know the other 90% saw the same banner.

I agree that it was handled poorly and they made a mistake in calling it an "Epic Community Event."

But that does not make anyone entitled to anything. You are not forced to buy Bioware products or participate on the forums. You voluntarily choose to participate or purchase Bioware products. The overreaction to not being eligable to be in a contest is a bit ridiculous at this point.

And really beyond the custom computers, xbox and Alienware laptops the rest of the rewards are lame. And alienware kinda sucks massively.

Agreed that the reaction is over the top but in all honesty would you expect anything less from an Internet, fan based forum ? They should have known better. Obviously people are not entitled to anything, but it is well within their rights to express their dissatisfaction. Bioware did handle this poorly any way you twist it. That is also their right of course.

Considering the annoyance and rage about Oghren and Mhairi in Dragon Age Awakening, I'm starting to think someone at BioWare just really likes getting a rise out their fanbase.

Call me crazy, but I like Oghren (Mhairi, I just didn't get to know before, well... you know)

I know this is not the cool thing to do on Internet, but I'm going to say everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You like Oghren? That's fine. I didn't though. So you can imagine my annoyance when I found out that the returning "old favorite" wasn't exactly my favorite.

I just hate it when companies are attempting to hype up their stuff. Call me crazy this time, but I like it when people are honest.

Have you seen the facebook, myspace, and twitter groups made by people participating in the event?

But yes, because a thread reached 100+ pages clearly the overwhelming majority hates the event, not just very vocal members posting in it. Also 90% of everyone that played Mass Effect must clearly love Tali because there are a number of high post count threads made about her.

THIS is soooo true. It's like a damn pillar of the multiverse.

That chart is full of FAIL.

1st the high point of bioware is by far KotOR, 2nd ME2 got extremely close to being as epic as KotOR and DAO was amazing but the ME1 story was mediocre at best. Awakening was also through the roof awesome and full of win. So BioWare is extremely close to their all time high KotOR at the moment though the community event is a pretty sweet april fools.

Fair enough, I won't begrudge you that.  A better choice of words would probably have been "some people's favorite", or "an Origins character returns", but that might've been too wordy.  You can't blame them for hyping up their products, however, I mean, the sells are what allows them to keep going, and keep making all these wonderful games they've given us in the past decade and a half.

All I'm saying is that some people *really* hate communists, even today (especially people who lived during McCarthyism).  And that this BioWare Bazaar blunder has nothing to do with politics, that's all.  :)

Ah, you want to actually get down to LITERAL meaning of the word.

Well then you're right, ONLY Americans are ENTITLED to this contest.

You're ENTITLED to your opinion, and I am ENTITLED to mine.

Don't be such  a nuthugger about Bioware that you have to retort with semantics, anyone can figure out what I and others mean.

Of course not, because we do not belong to the Community any longer, so we would need a non-community liaison :D:D:devil:

After waiting days on the countdown, speculating what it will be and then realising that your excluded simply because your not in the USA, you should sit, look at the americans having fun, and smile? I don't get it how BioWare could expect this from the people.

And really, the people that can take part in it and then comment like: hmm one man's loss is others fortune, and lol blame your own country... thats nice attitude i guess.

Anyway at least i pimped up my forum signature, and nice job with the pictures, videos ;p

I dont touch MySpace so I cant honestly comment on it. Facebook is almost as angry as these forums on the main Mass Effect page. And of course Twitter is participating, thats were all the sheep are flocking for the viral marketing. None of those social sites are the *Community* They may have members of the community in theme. But the community is the people here with accounts.

Any really comparing to the outraged people here to the Tali-mancers? You really do want to get lynched.

You're really pretty ignorant, aren't you?

Pretty much everyone outside the 48 states of America that is a fan of Bioware is gutted right now... atleast I haven't heard many (as in non-existant) non-americans agree with this...

I was thinking of something that explain it abit better... ;)

Anyway the best thing they could do is to say "sorry we made a mistake free hugs and cookies to everyone!" If they say its a april fool thingy everyone will know they are lying.

Sadly we wont get a "sorry" because asking a big corp to say sorry is like asking them to cut the 3rd leg off...
