Here's the Live (?) Webcast:

So either way we are getting an apology soon or it could be that BW/EA don't have a lot time left ;)

O****

So in a few hours were alle going to be blobs of jelly-like strange matter slowly being sucked away into black holes.

Guess Bioware just wanted to have some fund before the END!

CONSPIRACY!

I noticed that as
well, but didn't think anything of it. Also every other thread relating
to the countdown was locked down by Chris very quickly, before things
had gotten warmed up. I love a good conspiracy and there does seem to
be a few things like that, that seemed odd...
however. I fear the
only conspiracy here is that people in Marketing really do believe the
community only exists in the USA.

Srsly nobody whos got a job in the marketing department of ANY game company we know about CAN be that stupid and still work there.
Think about it...

I really can't agree with that. Aside from the fact that the chart is an "Epic Fail" itself, I personally would first like to know why only residents of the US are allowed to participate. I hope that there is a concrete reason why everyone else isn't eligible to take part in this event, otherwise I might be allured to get one of this signatures myself. :D

Anyway, you should probably keep in mind that Bioware is doing this on a voluntary basis and most reactions I've read by now wouldn't motivate me to host something like this again. Yes, it's a bit awkward to announce an "Epic Community Event" while allowing only a fraction of the community to partake, but apart from that I personally really appreciate the effort.

Honestly I don't know whether to be more impressed or offended by this whole thing. The "event" is the chance to be exploited by some EA shark's viral marketing scheme, thus doing their work for them by pimping their name and products over social networks? Genius! $62000 in bribes/prizes can't buy that kind of advertising. Even if I could take part, I would have enough pride to choose not to do so.

Oh well, I still have a cool banner.

Well i love how they are hiding...It seem to be a common thing for big corps to do while trying to figure out a way to do damage controll. But then again the people doing the damage controll are the same people that made this "Epic community event" so we might see another epic fail soon :D

You're really pretty ignorant, aren't you?

Pretty much everyone outside the 48 states of America that is a fan of Bioware is gutted right now... atleast I haven't heard many (as in non-existant) non-americans agree with this...

Just the ones who didn't look at the page and think to themselves, "Another contest I can't enter, oh well" then moved on. Have any of you ever been excluded from an promo event before? It happens. I get the whole dissapointment over the counter, but some of the replies in this thread are just comical.

I've never been excluded for a promo event at the moment I was waiting in front of the venue because it was announced as a community event. That's something that NEVER EVER should happen, as it will in all situations result in lots of angry people at such a venue... pretty much what is happening right now.

Plus, judging by most polls I see around the internet and around here, it's definately obvious more than 50% of the non-americans are gutted by this. Furthermore, it's not about not being able to enter the contest, it's about being told you're not part of the community or it's festivities.

Ah, you want to actually get down to LITERAL meaning of the word.

Well then you're right, ONLY Americans are ENTITLED to this contest.

You're ENTITLED to your opinion, and I am ENTITLED to mine.

Don't be such  a nuthugger about Bioware that you have to retort with semantics, anyone can figure out what I and others mean.

You have made it quite clear what you mean. You feel hurt because you were exluded. And that you feel that gives you the right to act like a child and be derogatory to others.

It still doesn't factuate any argument you have that you are entitled to anything. So as much as your entitled to have your opinion, I am just as entitled to tell you it's wrong when you post it on the forums.

There actually *are* quite a few good legal and logistic reasons why only 48 states of the US are concerned by the BioWare Bazaar. Now that we're all past the initial outrage (I hope), the point is that what I'm calling "the BioWare Bazaar Blunder" advertised an "Epic Community Event" with a week-long countdown which pumped up the hype and expectations of a worldwide community of fans. A little warning would've sufficed, that's all I'm saying.

Any really comparing to the outraged people here to the Tali-mancers?
You really do want to get lynched.

The Tali fans hold some really high count threads. They clearly must make up the majority of the community here.

So you would support a contest that started out saying the first 100 people through the door win $100 bucks. Then when the doors open they say that only the first 100 people through the door wearing red shirts win the prize. Cause thats pretty much what happen on a international level. If you really want to keep the blinders on and not see the real issue with how the counterdown was handled thats your option. But I am highly thankful that your opinion and those like it are the minority. It atleast gives some glimmer of hope that the entire gaming *community* hasnt nose-dived into idiocy.

The main Tali thread is hardly grounds for comparison either. Its over a month old and I doubt that even it was pushing 120 pages in less than 24hrs.

Actually you can. You don't have to agree with someone to believe they have a right to their opinion. I may not agree with what someone says but that doesn't mean I don't think they have the right to say it.

The Tali thread was created a month ago.

It has reached 4685 pages in that time.

That is an average of 156 pages a day, 157 if you want to round up all those decimals.

Yay for calculators!

I do not care about the bazaar, but knowing that I’m not even eligible is.... sad. So I’m also the "Ah, yes. "The Rest of the World!""
