All people have the right to an opinion on any topic of their choosing. That doesn't translate to having the right to EXPRESS that opinion. The right to expression is earned as far as I am concerned.

Unfortunately the, "Great Levelling," that occurred with the perpetuation, commercialisation and increased usage of the Internet removed many ways of telling if someone HAD earned the right to express their opinions on various subjects; now everyone is an expert and not a soul is ignorant.

Last time I checked in most countries the "right to expression and voicing opinions" are protected ammendments in the respective countries constitutions.

Hence YES, people do have the right to express them.

On a forum however, it actually is a different matter, since it is more of a dictatorship, IE they can "ban" you for having an opinion.

Still the opinion exist and the person can still express it, just not at the same location but have to use another venue.

Generally, the reason a contest like this is limited to only certain countries is because it creates a legal mess to hold it world wide. Each country in the world has different laws regulated them. Even in the US, states will have different laws, which is why New York and Florida are being excluded.

It's not anything personal, they are just trying to avoid a legal nightmare.

What was the point to make a big thing out of it if most of people don't get effected by this? Its like announcing a big birthday party to everyone and then telling to most of us to **** off because we are not invited. Good manners are something that BioWare not found of or just never managed to learn?

Yep you are right, but .... the laws are well known in the marketing .... so why plan a "Community Event" (in fact that the Community of Bioware is world wide) that is restricted to citizens of just ONE Country?

Its like suprise buttsex for the rest of the world ... yay the countdown hits zero .... yay no vaseline in there -.-

McHoger People are not upset about that. Honestly most people are used to not being allowed into contest and so on. But the fact that they wrote "epic community event" and then said that only 48 of the states in US could be part of it. And not only that... The Bazaar sucks anyway O.o? Why do we need a 1 week countdown for this pile of fail? People was hyping up about it being new game information and other FUN and INTRESTING things. Not a epic marketing fail where they want us to work for allmost free while they get 100 000$'s advertisment money O.o?

I was sure there would have been some sort of response from Bioware waiting when I woke up this morning....guess they're busy quantifying just how much awesome free DLC they're going to have to give those of us that they've shunted out of the community.

If Bioware's head office is indeed located in Edmonton Alberta Canada, it's only 4:13 am. you still have some time to wait before an "official" announcement.

Which is not a contridictory statement.

A contridictory statement is the following:

"My spelling is poifect."  Given the word perfect is misspelled the statement is therefore contridictory because it nullifies the statement of the spelling being perfect.

The statement of "You are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to tell you your opinion is wrong when you post it on the internet." is not a contridictory statement due to the fact that I am not signifiying that you are not allowed to have an opinion. I am signifying however that you are wrong. I am also signifying that we are both entitled to our opinion.

Ah, but the crux lie in this snippet:

"I am entitled to tell you that it is wrong."

You should have said:

I am entitled to tell you that IN MY OPINION, that it is wrong.

The contradictory part is that according to you whenever I speak it is opinion, but when you do it is fact.

Remember SEMANTICS.

It all started with you or someone else saying that WE are not entitled to whinge/whine/complain.
