This was for the fifteenth anniversary of BioWare. BioWare has not been owned by EA for its entire lifespan and BioWare has made its own mistakes when EA wasn't even in the picture. EA certainly has it's problems but this is BioWare's mistake in how they marketed this.

 

I fully agree that Bioware shares the blame in this debacle, but to claim that this  is a Bioware contest,  and not  an EA contest, is simply Wrong.  Have you read the Contest information?

^it's an EA online Competition.  Clear as day.

This is in addition to All the terms of service, rules, and other mind-numbingly tedious EA-lawyer speak on that page.  In fact, it's pretty much safe to assume that Bioware is merely sponsoring the event.

The parent company is ultimately responsible, also the Bioware accounts are also EA accounts that is why the legalities are EA first.

Go to any game developer site and the parent company will be listed in the terms and legalities.

I didn't read that far into the contest rules (for obvious reasons ) but that just reinforces my idea of EA using BW as a front for their stupidity.

Kasumi comes out in a week, anything we hear from BioWare will be about that. They'll hold the Bazaar, and they'll ignore all these complaints - even all these userbar sigs - for a long, long time.

The userbars are cool because if people keep them on for a while, eventually you figure someone from BioWare will have to acknowledge them, maybe.

Bethesda is awesome. Fallout 3 is awesome, Oblivion is awesome. Bethesda developers actually caring about creating a rich modding community is what makes those games awesome, and is partly why Dragon Age felt like a disappointment to me. DA's resource structure is not at all mod-friendly (mods will very easily conflict with each other and make problems for the users), which could have been avoided or circumvented to a degree if they had cared to. They also quite obviously skimmed-out on giving the game the textures it needed - some of them are plain and simply unfinished. Everything feels rushed with them, like they're scrambling for dollars at a ridiculous pace. They're pushing out DLCs and over-priced mini-expansions while they SLUG their way through horrible patches that seem to have the reverse effect of what patches are supposed to do.

The worse thing Bethesda ever did was Horse Armor DLC, but compared to Appearance Pack DLCs and these cheap marketing schemes BioWare is pulling and their overall ineptitude as of late, the Horse Armor comes off looking pretty reasonable. Bethesda themselves is about as fine an RPG developer I've ever seen. I certainly have never seen them stoop to conning customers with Epic Countdowns that lead into viral marketing schemes with trite self-promoting merchandise for prizes. It's just so lame that while I laugh at it for being stupid marketing, it also just leaves a bad taste in your mouth, like watching a late-night infomercial. Sham-wow is better than this./rant

I agree. 100%. This is a BioWare forum and some of these people here are absolutely convinced that BioWare is the best thing since sliced bread. Even if BioWare screws up with this Epic Community Event then the apologists will still defend BioWare to death. Telling that games like Oblivion are bad and BioWare can do much better is just a way to ensure their own little position within the non-existent BioWare community.

ive been trying to tell this communitiy that its all dEAd its a buissness ploy used by a company that buys others that the continue to use the name . its used to keep all the loyal costomers/fanbase appeased thinking everything is as it should be . because in reality we are a commodity .And to try and prevent a huge abanden ship event . its happens all the time most just dont see it . ive been saying this for two month and getting flamed and called a troll because of it

Since it appears you need rage to join this epic thread here I go. *cough* Rawr EA and Bioware are t3h sucks! I'm in florida and I can't compete in this contest that I dont care about rawr! BIoware and EA leik totally ruined my life by not letting me do this online community thingy rawr!1! Leik I totally got so excited because these numbers were counting down to something and I spent the past 5 days awake cuz I didn't want a second to go by without me looking at that clock rawr!1!!!1! Then they use the word epic and everybody knows that you can't use the word epic without the thing being really cool (its leike against english word rules rawr!) rawr!11!!11!! I HATEZ YOUZ BIOWAREZ RAAAWRR11!!1!!11!shift+one1!!!1!! *ahem* Yay now I'm a part of this thread too!
