Well... They had this cool intern who claimed he could create a countdown clock! Everyone was amazed by that idea and he got the green light. He *did* ask what text to use. What amazes me is that no memeber of staff at Bioware/EA queried the logic of advertising a US only promotion with a countdown, and labelled as an 'Epic Community event'! Surely there are people who work in this company with enough common sense to realise that this would just annoy a whole lot of customers.
Why oh why did no one have the sense to add to the counter/epic community event banner, a simple disclaimer stating that the event is only available to members within the US??? Thus avoiding this fallout! Seriously Bioware/EA need to sack some people, becase they are clearly to dumb to be earning a wage.

Exactly. At least it's something I know I will be able to obtain instead of "kinda maybe".

Are people upset by the fact that they are ineligible for the promotion, or about the fact that we weren't told beforehand that a great many of us could not participate, the fact that it was hyped up as a community event and many of us (up till now) paying customers feel disregarded...
hmm... I might actually make a poll on this. i have a sociology paper I have to hand in real soon anyway...

Also I love how everyone defending them, ea and bw, types these long ass messages that noone will read but the first line then say "f that." Also it's funny how they try to sound so smart.
So using proper grammer, formatting, and words with more then 3 syllables means someone is trying to sound smart? I do not get it.
Care to elaborate?

What, because I've been disappointed by False Hype from Bioware, I'm also going to do myself out of something else I would have enjoyed too? Of course not.
Reality is, most of us are here because we like the games, so we'll still get the games. We know it and they know it.
This kind of loyalty should probably mean MORE to them than threats to boycott anything, but I doubt that it does. Gone are the days when loyalty is appreciated, replaced by the days when loyalty is continuously taken advantage of and pushed to breaking point.

Lulz. All of you guys asking for Bioware/EA to give an apology must be new here. From what I've observed, ever since the ME1 boards, silence seems to be their answer for everything that doesn't go their way. I'm not surprised by this would-be epic screw up in the least to be honest.
i dont expect an apology at all but that doesnt mean they shouldnt give one youd like to think they wouldnt follow up one mistake with another. but they probably will

The second one. As evidenced by 80% of the thread.

As much it would sell before the countdown. We are in this network because we love BW products. This whole event so far is a disaster and we will criticize them in order to raise their standards in marketing section. But thats it.
Example: Personally i hate blizzard but this doesnt mean that i wont buy their products.
You... hate blizzard? WHY???
Milking methods, took them years to start listening to public feedback/ they implemented features that their community was screaming about years later. blizzcon and ghostcrawler. Ok i like ghostcrawler! sort of hehehe

I'm going to wait and see what people say about it first, if it looks like it's worth it I'll get it otherwise, meh.

Atleast they KNOW how to organize events (not talking about blizzcon, just community events and contests). This was very unproffesional for a company that makes excellent games and has a name in the industry.

The point is still there, regardless of grammatical correctness or spelling, congratulation
on trying to sound lika a pompous ass.
