It's probably an insane amount of money, but I wonder how much it would cost for all the people on this forum to pool together and buy Bioware from EA? That'd probably solve 99% of the problems right there.

Not even close enough to match a counter offer from EA or to be able to purchase Bioware.

Stop complaining. Bioware is giving away free prizes and you guys are mad just because your state/country isn't participating?

Wrong.

Don't worry, you're not the first.

Anything constructive to add jigpig, or are you obsessing on butthurt?

Not that I agree with Jigpig's methods... but did you really just say:

"constructive"?

I made it about three pages into this thread before skipping to the end... to see if things... improved.

I have not seen ANYTHING "constructive" about this thread.

Nothing but "srsly epic fail bioware" phrased in 30 different ways by sixty different people is hardly anything "constructive."

People in this thread act like this is the be all, end all.

You must have missed this 3 pages ago.

a. Convert every token from every illegibile member into a cent, then donate that money to Child's Play.

b. Allow the currently illegible members to participate in the auctions anyway, and donate whatever they win to Child's Play.

c.
Give one illegible member all (or maybe half) the tokens of all other
illegible members, and let him or her participate in the auction to
donate whatever he or she wins to Child's Play.

If that's true they might as well not bother as the very little of their demographic is actually from applicable areas

So i am to understand that Canada which is basically America without the guns, and has a bioware office like even allow Alberta to join in or even Edmonton and area so ya thanks for the outside thought Canadians still play games here even if that means in an igloo swigging beatrs on the back of a Mountie playing hockey EA .

I'm an American, but I feel I must correct this.

Canada has guns.

They just don't have GUN VIOLENCE like we do.

But, anyway...  I suspect the bazaar is limited to meet the most restrictive export regulations on all of the 'prizes'.  So if, say, one of the computing devices is prohibited for export that eliminates everything outside north america, and when you tally all the restrictions up you get the 48 states selected.

I'm not saying it was a good idea to go forward under those restrictions, but I bet it sounded like a good idea when they started and then the legalities snowballed on them.

 And no, I am NOT defending them, just trying to figure out how things got so FUBARed...

I think you make a good point - it must have sounded like a good idea when they started.  Otherwise who in their right mind would have gone down this path?

Honestly, all Bioware (or more likely EA) need to say that they didn't think this through fully, it was a mistake, and they're sorry.  They don't need to promise free swag or anything like that.  Just let the community know that they understand the mistake they made, and that they promise to make every effort to avoid it in the future.  Yes we're all annoyed, but it would make a big difference if they at least said they 'listened' to us.

Request one in social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/13/index/1981007/4

A lot of the sigs are posted there.  Probably could get pretty fast.

understandable if Bioware is cutting off a contest from Europe, Asia and South America. Most game companies simply cannot support that kind of international promotion.

but cutting off new york, florida, and ironically canada is just ridicolous. Are you guys THAT lazy?

ughhh not again.

We as a forum appreciate marketing limitations and constraints in shipping prizes ect.   We are annoyed as for days Bioware has been bigging up a massive community event with a countdown timer and intentionally getting the worldwide community hyped.   Then the Bazaar is announced and its a private party for US citizens only

If your definition of free is being given tokens as a reward for buying products and spamming popular network sites with BioWare promotional links, all so that you might be able to bid and trade these tokens in for a brand-merchandised t-shirt, then, yeah, you're so right.

I don't want to undermine the very good idea, but I think you mean "ineligible".

"illegible" just means we can't read them. (Granted, there's a few of those too Image IPB)

Ok I'm going to be honest and realistic. I wouldn't expect a response from bioware other than an apology. Do the math. Dragon age and ME2 have sold about 5 million copies together. I'll be liberal and say 50 thousand people have complained about the countdown fail. You represent only 1% of the population. Maybe a few percent higher for the ones that own both games. Not every international player is mad about this. Spamming the forums with lolcats and such will get you nothing.

I don't get why some of you are going to other forums to badmouth BioWare, or why you expect some sort of substantial gift. If anything, all BioWare really owes us is a small apology for their mishandled marketing/contest debacle. I don't think raging and badmouthing the company is going to get us anywhere at all. Nor does it prove that we deserve any sort of response. Maturity is usually repaid in kind.

I just with they would at least make some response, instead of just ignoring everyone.

In all seriousness though, you do have a point
