Guys, enough hatred already. I would appreciate it if all of you could read my previous post and quote it if you agree with it. If there enough of us do, I will forward this to BioWare (or maybe they'll notice it before I have to do that).
Edit: For your convenience, I shall repost my previous post it here:Kaiser Shepard wrote...
Alright, time to listen you lowly maggots.
We have raged on for long enough now. It is obvious we won't achieve anything with endlessly ranting and spamming. Thus let us use our powers for good instead of evil.
We know BioWare isn't an unreasonable company, neither is EA. How poor their choice of words to advertise this event may have been, there is nothing they can do to circumvent the laws that prevent a contest such as this one from being held worldwide.
But all hope is not yet lost:
Last year, during the final weeks of ye olde Mass Effect forum, BioWare gave us the Gift of the Yeti Facebook game. Each play of the game had BioWare raise a penny for gamer children's charity Child's Play, up to a total of $10.000 USD.
What we ask of BioWare is to repeat this act of kindness. To allow not only every ineligible member of the community, but also every willing legible one to donate his or her Tokens to Child's Play. Whatever a single Token might be worth in US or Canadian dollars is up to BioWare (and EA, I guess) to decide, the same goes for the maximum amount of money set aside for donation.
In the end, this solution will likely prove to be the best for each of the involved parties: BioWare/EA can not only set this incident/miscommunication straight, but also get some good publicity out of this. The community members which were not allowed to participate, can participate for a good cause. And let us not forget Child's Play, which will be allowed to help even more children.
We have saved Ferelden from the Darkspawn, we have fought for the lost, now let us Fight for the Children.
Frakkin' listen to this dude... dammit!
I agree, and that guy who quoted it saying we should ignore this post is an idiot. Read it and realize that complaining a contest is not worldwide and thinking htey will release a comment is crazy. They have nothing to comment on, expect that the lead up to the announcement was poor.
I really do not like this bloody "good and evil" polemic in this mail. We are not the Bush administration!
