For now, I'm just wondering what the **** are thinking the community managers ?..., Bioware... Do you think that are you doing a great job on all these posts, and groups? Or this kind of forum, with the purpose of relating to the community, is not just a good place to advertise for free? Perhaps, they might say something ... Or at least explain to us that means epic, in relation to the exclusion of non-American members...

Ok, great, there is an answer, so... http://social.biowar...index/1988326/1
So, "we must" keep waitting to... the coming weeks... I believe in you... for now.
P.d: If you call it "Community Announcement from Ray and Greg" people is going to be confused.

Lame excuse... last minute legal problems for two american states and the rest of the world, yeah good one!

The whole thing is pretty damn lame trying to get fans to spam the internets with Bioware propaganda, to earn 'tokens' which might win you a t-shirt, if you have no life or buy 100 copies of Dragon Age... brilliant..<_<

I appreciate the apologies. While the event itself is a tad iffy, the rage stemmed from the fact that the entire community wasn't allowed to partake in it, and that wouldn't have been 'wrong' either, as long as it had been mentioned in a footnote during the countdown, or something. It's still annoying how 'the rest of the world' can't join, however, but I'm assuming future events will allow us to. How about, for the next one, it's the whole world except for those 48 states? It would be fun to have the tables turned, every once in a while, if having something truly global is out of the question.

Actually you're wrong sir, and like many others you missed the point, we don't give a crap about the contest, the thing that set this off was that little line sounding something like this:

"To show our appreciation of fan support over the last 15 years, we have created the BioWare Bazaar!"

So that line plus the long wait and the mystery surrounding this event leading to the disappointment of not being part of the U.S., led most of us thinking that they only appreciate their U.S. fan base.

Thanks for the apology, but it ain't good enough, maybe some of us will let you off the hook that easily but most of us won't forget this coupled with the small screw-ups lately, maybe they can redeem themselves with ME 3 and future titles, for now my attention is on CDprojekt, take notes Bioware, that's how a company should treat it's fanbase.

Take care guys, and good luck!

I think this post by Mr. Priestly is all I ever wanted to hear in response to this whole debacle, so I'm reposting it here.

Time for an apology from me as well. The BioWare Bazaar IS a cool event and, if we had been able to get it working as we intended, potentially Epic. Yes, not nearly enough people are able to be part of it (see Ray & Greg's apology), but the event is cool. Where I went wrong is in how we marketed it to you and for that I apologize. We used the word "Epic" before we had proven that it was. Sorry. We also used the Countdown timer to generate interest. In hindsight, this allowed rampant speculation which caused disappointment. Again, sorry. While I won't promise we will never use a timer like it again, I can promise we will make sure that such a timer is worthy of the interest it will attract.

So, for those who are taking part in the BioWare Bazaar, thanks for your interest. We are having a great response and people are having fun with it. And for those who cannot be part of the BioWare Bazaar, my apologies as well. As Ray & Greg indicated, we do have more events coming this year to celebrate our 15th Anniversary, including the one specifically for those who were excluded from the Bazaar.  We do greatly value our Community. All of it, no matter where you are from and we're going to prove it.

I guess i missed it when browsing through the off-topic thread. Now this is a proper apology :).  In the end, i could say i'm also happy because this was the reason that made me post more in the forums and feel that there was actually a community here.

While I have no idea where this appology or others actually are, at least seeing it makes me feel a lot better. Sure, it doesn't completely take the sting off of it - but it's a start. The most important part is I think they realize where they went wrong.

Oh...finally a response. It is kind of lame BUT, it was what we were calling for. I will reserve my judgement before changing my sig and wanna see how South America will be tought on these plans. But, anyway, thanks for at least and acknowledgement.

Hmmm "last Minute legal Problems" after 2 days sounds more like a marketing sences after a H-Bomg was droped on the Community "ooops". BUT im too long a fan of Bioware, all i wanted was a apology.I dont blame Bioware as a whole for it but some Marketing Dude is responsible for it

I will change my Sig into "to remember the Community disaster March 2010 and all their victims. We forgive but never forget"

I'm among those who couldn't care less for the competition itself, as I was primarily annoyed by the fact a US residents-only competition was passed as an 'Epic Community Event'.

Chris Priestly's reply sounds sincere, I'm glad he replied to us. Also, he stated there will be an event for those uneligable for the Bazaar, which is a nice gesture. At least BioWare now realizes their fans will revolt when treated unfairly. Let's just hope everybody will be able to participate in future Events.

I don't buy the whole 'last minute legal stuff' excuse though. I just flat-out refuse to believe BioWare's PR team is THAT stupid.

LMAO, I completely missed the whole "event" but I've still just spent 4 hours reading the entire thread. Funny stuff :D

You sir, are either very patient or have way to much free time. I'm not sure which.

probably a bit of both ^_^

I have to agree with him, though. Funny stuff in this thread.

I really didn't mean to spend that long reading it, I just couldn't look away, I had to keep reading :D

Interesting to see how my Child's Play idea has lived on even after the doctors' apology. Kinda disappointing that the user in question tried to do it that way, but interesting nonetheless.

Apologies are always too late; you can’t tell me that none of you at Bioware or EA did not see this coming. Anyone can apologise after the fact, but how about not screwing your loyal customers in the first place. Others might bite and accept it but not me, Bioware and ea showed their true colours with their original announcement, nothing will change that for me, and you have lost a loyal customer, not that you cared in the first place.

So I suppose you'll delete your account and get rid of your games?

Can I have your stuff?

Skeevy.

That's how I felt when I read the announcement of the "Epic Community Event" Monday afternoon, just plain skeeved by the whole thing.  Excluding most of the world from something billed as a community event was bad enough, but have you considered the nature of this thing?  They build up hype of a significant magnitude and then pull a Tom Sawyer.  Just skeevy.

For those of you who may not remember/be familiar with Tom Sawyer, the event to which I'm referring is Tom's deceptive swindling of other boys in the neighborhood to do his job of whitewashing a picket fence AND getting them to pay him for the "privilege".  Consider the nature of this "contest" - participants spend hours and days clicking around the internet and drumming up new business for EA/Bioware (BEAware?) and in return have the POSSIBILITY of MAYBE having a CHANCE to acquire something that in itself is MORE free advertising for BEAware.  Nice.  Personally, when I do work I like to be compensated for the work, not shined on to believe that I'll be "rewarded" with "cool swag" that I could just purchase myself - and quite easily if I, instead of participating in this "contest" in the first place, would have spent my time working a minimum wage job.

Now, if this event had been presented as a chance to HELP test out a new marketing scheme, and through which I'd be given tokens that I could exchange for new downloadable content for ME2 or DA:O - new armor bits, new weapons, whatever - I would have been THRILLED to participate!  A bit of actual research and due diligence on the part of the creators of this event would have avoided any of the exclusionary bits that this fiasco has engendered.  And EVERYONE would get SOMETHING for the time they would spend doing BEAware's marketing and advertising work - as opposed to this "contest" which is little more than stealth socialism for the company.

I used to believe that Bioware was a company worthy of respect.  But this deceitful, underhanded, conniving attempt to lull gullible hapless rubes into doing work for free is appalling.  Apologies notwithstanding, I find myself gravely disappointed.

Skeevy.

Ok, I hope to delete the Epic Fail video as soon as their promise come true. Meanwhile, I'm back doing my usual DA vids:

Dragon Age - Awakening - Game! Set! Match! - Oghren's Crash & Burn Image IPB

Very short one, with my latest captured funny stuff.

And yes, some people should read that whole thread with the apologies, again! For their own benefit!

i think it's more like EA's fault, than Bioware's
for me it's hard to believe that the great minds who created these amazing games would come up with something lame like this
i guess they were the masterminds behind the pricing of the "alternate appearance pack" too
bioware is their cash cow and they're trying to make the most of it
sorry if i'm wrong though, it just seems logical to me
