This contest was sponsored by a company in the United States. That's not to say there is nothing that can be done, but I frankly don't care enough to find out.
I'm in the United States, I will participate. THANK YOU Bioware for hosting the Bazaar in the first place. I am absolutely positive it was not deliberate that any countries were left out of participating. I am sorry not everyone is getting included.
I would like to say: Seriously what is wrong with those of you saying [expletive] you, United States! I don't run around saying "Screw you UK!" or "****** off Canada!". (Really. Could you please tell me how you can rationally call a company racist and then bash the entirety of the population of the relatively diverse (racially, politically, and religiously) country I (sometimes unfortunately) call home?

As an American eligible for the contest, I have to say this is a pretty uncool move. Maybe there are some obscure international laws that prohibit them from extending the contest to the rest of the world. Maybe Bioware argued with EA, the courts, or whoever to let every country partake. I'm sure there's a good reason, it's not because Bioware is unrealisticly nationalist, and not even to their own country.
The uncool part is hyping it up like this, with no warning to the rest of the international community about their upcoming ineligibility. Had their been no countdown, no promise of an "Epic Community Event," then perhaps the backlash wouldn't have been so severe. It would have been just another silly, exclusive contest. Those happen all the time. But the build-up, and the inclusion of the word Community, and then unexpectedly exclude a significant and equally important part of that community? Not a good move. The absolute least they could do is provide an explanation as to why the contest is limited to one country. If they are unable to provide a good reason, then what else are we to assume other than there is no good reason, and the rest of the world is simply being given the proverbial shaft?
To everyone who happens to live in another country, I'm sorry.
Quoted for truth.
And also, thank you for not saying something along the lines of "haha, in your face, you primitive rest of world whiners".

That's crap, if that was THAT restricted, a global countdown wasn't needed, since this far, every fan of you in the world got the attention about it, and they might feel being joked now, or angry, or just like me, deluded.
I can just say Good Luck to the *lucky* (lucky to live there) USA partecipants after all..

To be frank, all this hate boils down to Bioware not making it clear that the event was american only and building worldwide hype for 7 days... Had they been more open about who would be able to participate or who it concerned right off the bat.... the rage would have been lesser....
This is it exactly.
Had a week ago, BioWare announced that there was a contest coming up that due to rules and regulations only the 48 included states could participate in, and they were counting down to it, then there would be not nearly as much vitriol.
BioWare billed this as an Epic Community event and then excluded a large part of their community.
Alodar
Indeed. For our fans....right...should have been 'for our american fans only". Epic, yeah, right.

Thats a slap to the face. Really its like
your dad tells you he will buy you a present, you open it to not find
anything inside and before you react, he kicks you in the balls.
Your metaphor, and your logic, sucks. Bioware has no obligation to give you this free stuff. If you're just going to complain like this when they do, they'll just stop doing this altogether. Why do you have this stupid sense of entitlement. I agree with ImperialOperative, you guys are just being selfish pricks. Grow up.
Compensation for not getting something you didn't earn. Yea, that makes a lot of sense.
Yes, but calling it an "EPIC COMMUNITY EVENT" where probably more than half the community is excluded is ... hmmm ... false advertising?
And I say again, this wont keep me from buying ME3 or DA2 ... love both series and love (most) of biowares games. But this is just epic fail ...
Exactly. It's not racist like some have amusingly argued, but it has been very badly handled. I think people are just annoyed, like I am, at the over-hyping of an event that turned out to exclude most of the community it was meant to be a gift to. Bioware didn't steal my car, they haven't raped anyone and they aren't racist; that doesn't mean that there isn't a legitimate grievance here.
Okay, I'll agree with you there, there is a legitimate grievance on the basis that Bioware never told us that it would only affect Americans. In any case, the comments presented in the forums are still ridiculous. I'm reading "Bioware has sacrificed their integrity", "I'll never buy another Bioware game again", and all these ridiculous comments when perfectly legitimate explanations for the contest limitations exist. And don't tell me people don't know of them; they've been presented numerous times in the thread and people have always ignored them.
