No they are holding a contest that is to show their fan appreciation. It says it right on their front page. It is like when a girl or guy says they like you a lot, then they go date your best friend. Doesn't mean your not special, they just don't like you in "that way".

What really gets me here is how mad people are getting at the whole "community" part when really the whole thing itself is just a marketing gimmick thats attempting to turn registered BioWare game users into viral marketeers for EA.
I mean I'm eligible and I don't give a flying fluck about this. Its just some EA marketing shark's brilliant idea to turn mindless BW fans into adbots on various social networks, for EA products in exchange for a CHANCE at winning stuff we can already BUY in about 80% of cases.
Its basically just marketing, and anyone mad about not being included in it is...might as well tattoo "CONSUMER WH*RE" on their foreheads and be done with it.
This whole deal is stupid, to be angry about not being allowed to participate is like being angry that you weren't chosen at the mall to take part in a "survey" that pays you 15 bucks if you go to several various stores in the mall and buy the equivalent of about 25 dollars worth of product from the stores to "evaluate" for the survey.
Its shark marketing, its EA making BW look like the biggest marketing wh*re in the gaming industry and frankly I'm disgusted with it.
BioWare can stand on its own two feet on the quality of their products alone. This crap is just crap.
What you need signature wise is one that says "I USED TO BE PART OF THE COMMUNITY BUT THEN I GOT WISE TO EA'S MARKETING DIVISION AND
DECIDED TO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO ANYTHING BIOWARE DOES UNLESS IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH A GAME."
Might be a bit big for a signature graphic.
Seriously people, get a grip, all you're missing out on here is the opportunity to be exploited and used by EA in a pilot marketing partnership between EA and several companies and BioWare is being used as the street corner pusher for the junk.
EDIT: Holy crap does this forum software have formatting issues.

You guys do realize that the event being a "community event" does not mean that the countries not included are not a part of the community? It did not say "Community Wide Event" it only means that people who aren't taking part of in the community cannot take part in the event, it doesn't mean that every community member can take part.
To repeat again, I do understand being upset that you can't participate, especially because that information wasn't provided right away, but that doesn't mean that EA/BioWare doesn't consider you a part of the community.

Had there been a line on the Bioware site that said 'US Competition coming soon!' I don't think anyone would have batted an eyelid.
+1, I live in NY and I'm not angry at all. Bioware could've saved themselves alot of trouble by not putting up a countdown in the first place.

It's not an excuse at all. I only stated a fact. I didn't say the marketing was even decent, to have called this epic and hyped it so much with a countdown(I had thought they were going to announce their next game, personally) what I stated was that this being a "community event" epic or not, doesn't mean that the countries and states that can't participate aren't a part of the community, in reality or in the eyes of EA/BioWare. I am sure it's legalities that bar certain places from participating. *shrugs*Nizzemancer wrote...

if they had replaced the word "epic" with "US exclusive" your excuse might have worked...
