No they are holding a contest that is to show their fan appreciation. It says it right on their front page. It is like when a girl or guy says they like you a lot, then they go date your best friend. Doesn't mean your not special, they just don't like you in "that way".
By that logic, does that mean you'd feel better if your girlfriend tried to sleep with as many people as possible rather than exclude any of her "fans"?
As opposed to telling me to watch a count down timer announcing she is going to date most of the United States of America? Yeah, that would have made me feel better.

Anyway, Bioware is not going to celebrate an Anniversary with only a small
percentage of the Community. They will come up with something for Canadian,
and European Fans. Just give 'em some time. Christ, it's only Monday-day 1 for
this whole Contest thing.

"YOU HAVE FAIL ME FOR THE LAST TIME BIOWARE!"
You known this rage storm is definitive something what EA/Bioware didn't count at all... but like old soldier once say "If you don't want to loose legs don't walk on mine field".

We are hacked off at a countdown timer that was flagged as an "epic community event", not a "mediocre marketing ploy for those in certain parts of the North American continent".
We are hacked off that "community" in EA-speak appears to mean citizens of 48 states.
I am hacked off that the epic event is a cheap con for the few, if it had been a smart, witty, panache filled con for all I still wouldn't have taken part but at least I'd have had a smile and a laugh about it!

Look, I can completely understand *why* alot of people are upset at this point.
It really seems like the peeps in Bioware's PR department dropped the ball.
However, I think you guys are jumping the gun here. Bioware is not one to let
their Fan Base down intentionally. And, no, the patch thing with DA:O doesn't
count because, frankly, there were a ton of variable there that we knew nothing
about and they were likely legally obligated not to talk about.
Anyway, Bioware is not going to celebrate an Anniversary with only a small
percentage of the Community. They will come up with something for Canadian,
and European Fans. Just give 'em some time. Christ, it's only Monday-day 1 for
this whole Contest thing.
The "community" likes to ß*τ<╫, whine, and moan about whatever is the flavor of the month. I am thinking that BioWare might have learned this back when RTO was delayed... if not earlier in its 15 years of win+awesome. When it comes down to it? they'll still buy the next DLC/expansion/game that comes out if they like it.

It is epic because they managed to annoy more than half of the community
Instead of this token/auction stuff that is only available to some, I wish they would have just followed EA's strategy of rewarding/encouraging buyers of the game, and just given us bioware points to use on future DLC.
