No they are holding a contest that is to show their fan appreciation.  It says it right on their front page.  It is like when a girl or guy says they like you a lot, then they go date your best friend.  Doesn't mean your not special, they just don't like you in "that way".

By that logic, does that mean you'd feel better if your girlfriend tried to sleep with as many people as possible rather than exclude any of her "fans"?

As opposed to telling me to watch a count down timer announcing she is going to date most of the United States of America?  Yeah, that would have made me feel better.

To all the folks who think we are hacked off at not being allowed to particiapte in the auctions. YOU ARE MISSING THE WHOLE POINT.

We are hacked off at a countdown timer that was flagged as an "epic community event", not a "mediocre marketing ploy for those in certain parts of the North American continent".

We are hacked off that "community" in EA-speak appears to mean citizens of 48 states.

I am hacked off that the epic event is a cheap con for the few, if it had been a smart, witty, panache filled con for all I still wouldn't have taken part but at least I'd have had a smile and a laugh about it!

The "community" likes to ß*τ<╫, whine, and moan about whatever is the flavor of the month.  I am thinking that BioWare might have learned this back when RTO was delayed... if not earlier in its 15 years of win+awesome.  When it comes down to it? they'll still buy the next DLC/expansion/game that comes out if they like it.
