I'm down with that. I wish I could toss my points over to one of my many friends here, what I mean by stop defending them, is to stop defending them your legal mambo-jumbo cause it's completely true that BioWare had worldwide giveaways in the past. Some even stating "We'll send you your prize no matter where you live blah blah blah".the_one_54321 wrote...

Just stop defending them.
They may not have handled this the best way they could have, but it's still awesome. There are lots of Europeans offering us well wishes while wishing they could participate as well. Everyone should follow that mature and positive example.
If you want these people to get over it then that's fine, but don't say BioWare didn't screw us over with false adverising and that they are restricting it to the U.S. for purely legal resons cause it' ain't true.

I currently have 2220 points. I will put all of my points and any give to me by people clicking
http://social.bioware.com/brc/277613
to win one of the laptops (M11x AlienWare Laptops). If I win it I will not keep it but will GIVE IT to someone who is not eligible due to their location.
For the record, my full and real name is David Nihsen and I live in Omaha, Nebraska. I don't want you guys to think I'm trying to pull a fast one or **** for points.
I think this is a crap move pulled on all those who don't live in the "correct" 48 states.
Not sure about the rules behind linking sites here because I don't come here that much, but if you Google ""dave nihsen" forum" you'll have my little home. I'm not trying to drive traffic there, but it's really the best place to reach me.
If I win it then someone outside the US (or in New York or Florida) will get it through a random drawing.
Again, I will not charge for anything including postage, shipping, whatever. And I'll ship it anywhere. Laugh at me if you want, participate if you want or just berate me verbally. But I'm putting my information out there to help out the COMMUNITY.
Legal reasons don't mean that they are legally restricted. It means that they weighed the options and costs of fulfilling all the legal requirements for making the contest multi-national and decided it wasn't worth it.Mistress9Nine wrote...

WHY DO YOU JERKS ALWAYS EXCLUDE ALASKA FROM EVERY EVENT EVER? [/capslock]
There's like, less than half a million of us over here, and I bet I would be the ONLY ALASKAN that would be part of this event. Just pay the extra 5 bucks for shipping and make us igloo dwellers happy, or we'll secede from the US and annex Canada. *threating glare*
I thought the only excluded states were Florida and New York.

They didn't say "we only like America (minus New York and Florida)" to draw the contest lines. They said "we don't want to go through the trouble/pay the extra money to make this contest cross borders."

Although I stick with the European one... looks way more cool than probably having the only german flag xD
Then they shouldn't have put up a worldwide countdown...the_one_54321 wrote...

I think they are already regretting that decision if it's merely based on costs. It's definately not worth this PR nightmare.
