Guys, the countries and states that are excluded, I am fairly certain, are not participating due to their OWN laws regarding contests. No one at EA/BioWare decided that the only people that are a part of the community live in a mere 48 of the USA's states.
I mean the Warden's Quest event was not that long ago, and included teams made from all across the globe. In that case they did have control over it and consciously chose to include the entire world. That says a lot more than legal barriers on a single event.
Yeah people can accept there are marketing laws but that is not the point.
As I posted on another thread; It is the fact Bioware plastered a countdown banner and made a real big deal out of it. They intentionally caused a lot of hype and attention and got Bioware fans from across the globe excited. Then when the community event is announced they simply say "private party for USA only"
Thats why people are annoyed.

that is exactly what they did when they choose an event type that made them exclude a majority of the community.Cat Lance wrote...
What I'm stating is that they didn't exclude anyone by choice.
They have deliberately chosen an event that excludes non US citizens when they could have done something else that everyone could be part of.
They did not do this contest to segreate the audience and divide the userbase. That is just crazy. They wanted to conduct a contest for everyone and because the laws are different from country to contry, it is easier to do it the the widest amount of people available. it was not right of them to say it was US only now. A contest of any sort is going to be hard to accomplish if it was worldwide

I need a "I used to be part of the community, now I'm just Alaskan" Banner.
There's nothing keeping Alaska residents out of this so you don't get a banner.
You don't know how it works, Man! First they forget to mention they don't ship to alaska until they look at the bill. Then they jump up and say "OH WAIT" and then before ya know it, BAM! Your state's full of Texans and you wake up on fire. True story.
There are TONS of websites I tried buying stuff from that pull that one on me.

Actually, Bioware commented on that...Roflpie wrote...
Am I the only one who thinks this would have ended better if the countdown had ended with "We're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I!"
The absolute irony is, when I click that link I get:-
'This video contains content from Vevo, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.'
We Europeans get nothing!
Same here, hahaha...

Thank you Bioware, I'm now gonna save a nice amount of money from not buying your games anymore. From now on, I'll either pirate your games, or buy them second-hand so you don't get money from me, ever again. And my douchee money is super important to you.
Ciao.
Fixed it for ya, bra

I'm pretty sure they would, there's a slim chance for anyone to win, let alone any chunk of people from Alaska.
