Not to interrupt the rants (=P), but does anyone know how they give you the points? There's no real link between my twitter I made and this Bioware account. How will they know?

I'm assuming they have a dedicated link? I don't know.

I'd also like to know when winners are announced, so I can delete my answers. (I run a tight Twitter ship. *HE SAID, THREE TIMES FAST*)

ANSWERS: You have to do a status update, ON THIS SITE.  Also, winners are notified in about eight hours.

Goatta say considering Bioware is a Canadian company why do we Canadians always get the shaft?

Bioware is not a Canadian company. It is a U.S. American Company. Owned and administered by Electronic Arts.

"Bioware" is just a label owned by Electronic Arts.

The people who can participate are disinterested, the people who can't participate are interested.

It's a pity, but it starts to be evident that Bioware died back in 2008.

Did anyone ever stop to think that maybe there are legal reasons why they can't run this contest throughout the entire world? Do you really think they are purposely trying to screw their consumers?

Yeesh, calm down people.

Thats easy for you to say since you are probably able to actually participate. I for one feel kinda screwed over, now Im not really blaming anyone. But it just seems like those legal problems probably aren't the hardest to get around. I mean if 48 other states could do it, are the other 2 really giving you that much of a hard time?

Because they have these things called laws which prevent sweepstakes such as this from occurring. It's ****ty and outdated, but there you have it - it's the individual state's fault, not Bioware's.

As for Europe and Canada, I suspect there's all kinds of weird ass international laws that prevent them from allowing those countries to participate as well. I'd look it up but I'm lazy. They aren't excluding people because they want to, it's out of necessity. I'm sure the backlash wasn't expected, but fans are fickle and reactionary.

The "Legal Issues" excuse is and will continue to be an utter and complete bullsh!t excuse with no validity whatsoever.

To say that there are "legal issues" in individual nations insinuates that there are no "legal issues" within the U.S. itself. Yes, you would have to work with legal issues in individual nations. Yes, it would take some work. No, it's far from undoable, or harder to do it in other nations than in the U.S.

Uh...how do you do a twitter status update from this site?  I think you're confused by the wording in the rules.

Ya, but its not like New York or Florida doesnt have sweepstakes at all. Im just saying if EA or whoever actually pressed the issue they probably could have gotten around those laws or found a way to comply with them.

I agree, but as it is about 65% of the 'community' can't participate even if they wanted to...

I am very certain that the countries and states not included are due to the laws those countries/states hold regarding contests. The points and auction system are unusual, so it's very possible that they got it all set up and then found out that most place's laws made their participation in the event a no go.

Im confident that it isn't BioWare's fault, i just wished they had handled the lead-up better. Instead of throwing out this countdown clock.

I was genuinely excited for this only to find out "oh yeah by the way, if you not from these 48 states. You cant do this".

The contest rules are a bit confusing. I still don't know how they connect our twitter responses to our Bioware social page. Also, the rules state that each response must be accompanied by @biofeed, #biowareBazaar, and #DragonAge or #MassEffect2, or other depending on question. JUST GIVE US AN EXAMPLE! If I type all that crap into my response, I'll have about 10 characters left in my tweet!

This may be a stupid question, but in the rules it says they are holding a "MOCK" auction. Why are they using that term? To me that says a fake auction or only for enjoyment and no other meaning.

Can anyone give me there feedback on this term? Thanks!

So, a week ago, when they put the countdown up, and announced it as an epic community event, and made all the hype...  you're saying they hadn't checked the rules about running the competition internationally?  poppycock.

As I said, they could have avoided all of this backlash if they'd just announced it as 'US-only'.
