Auction results involve cash and are usually legally binding. Their awarding system is based off of an auction, but there is no cash involved and no one is legally bound to accept the prizes.Gunny5821 wrote...
This may be a stupid question, but in the rules it says they are holding a "MOCK" auction. Why are they using that term? To me that says a fake auction or only for enjoyment and no other meaning.
Can anyone give me there feedback on this term? Thanks!

It's not even US-only. Florida and New York are excluded as well.davidk1991 wrote...
As I said, they could have avoided all of this backlash if they'd just announced it as 'US-only'.

i also feel its pretty stupid that not everyone can compete, though im sure its because of laws that people have already brought up, but if thats the case why didnt bioware just tell everyone who can compete or not in the first place.
i am still a big bioware fan however, i loved awakenings and origins and cant wait for the next game in the series

Feh, in that case I think the complaining would have just started earlier.
Nah, if they said it was going to be US-only I wouldn't have got excited or sat at the computer waiting for it. I mean, I'm not devastated that I can't take part, it's just all the hype around it, when it turns out only a small portion can get involved.

The contest rules are a bit confusing. I still don't know how they connect our twitter responses to our Bioware social page. Also, the rules state that each response must be accompanied by @biofeed, #biowareBazaar, and #DragonAge or #MassEffect2, or other depending on question. JUST GIVE US AN EXAMPLE! If I type all that crap into my response, I'll have about 10 characters left in my tweet!
Only 100 responses will be chosen as "winners". They'll just DM you on Twitter and ask for your Bioware Social account. as far as the response goes, I'd make sure @biofeed and #biowareBazaar are in every response, and then use #masseffect2 or #dragonage as applicable
e.g. @biofeed Leliana is my fave character in #dragonage #biowarebazaar

*edit: Oh, and for haven's sakes people, they said it's a community event, meaning it is not available to those who don't take part in the community, not that it was a Community Wide Event, so if your country isn't included, that does NOT mean you aren't considered a part of the community. That's more than a bit of an overreaction.
Is it?
This is very frustrating for me Cat.
Ths was billed as an Epic Community event.
This led me to believe it was something I could enjpy and take part in because I am part of the BioWare Community.
To find out that their Community was restricted to 48 states after 15 years of supporting BioWare is IMHO very disappointing.
There was no warning, no explanation, no disclaimer, no coming soon for the rest of our fans.
It has been handled very poorly by BioWare and this reaction from the fans outside of the US is the result.

BioWare has done nothing but try and make it a good community, granted im disappointed with the lack of a proper explanation as to why. At least a lot of the BioWare fans (America.. durr) get's this awesome event.
Props to them for doing this. Dislike on the lack of explanation, but mostly, dislike on whoever/whatever is keeping the rest of us from joining in on the fun.

I think it's @biofeed [RESPONSE] #biowarebazaar [PLUS] #dragonage [-OR-] #masseffect
As for the "mock auction" language, it's referring to the token system vs. real currency.

So... it seems people expected something interesting from a "Bioware epic event".
I laughed so much at this I disturbed a chap playing Call of Duty in the next room

Has anyone else noticed that all Bioware is doing atm is locking any thread related to this one (fair enough) and not addressing the issue itself.... Just see a lot of copy/paste/close topic, going on.
This is a pretty standard bioware tactic. Ignore the issue and limit discussion of it amongst others.

The level of pessimism from people is ludicrous. They're closing other topics on this matter due to one fact; If they didn't it'd get way out of hand with flame, and about 10.000 posts regarding the very same thing.
And, Sloth of Doom:
The way you're saying it, sounds like you've been BioWare member (played their games for years), and, oh so you hate it, yet you play their games and are still here to this day.. So their 'tactics' works game-wise, and as many (included myself) have mentioned before, this isn't BioWare's fault.

Ofcourse I got all the dlc and I bought Awakenings to.
Big dissapointment, the storyline is shalllow, you toolk out almost all the convo and the romance options.
And now this.... "Epic Community Event" I'm sorry, I'm going to have to repeat a much heard complaint. Apperantly NY, Florida and the rest of the world are not part of the "Bioware Comunity"
*p Y**rs BIoware, fire your marketing staff because obviously they don't know what the heck their doing.
When annoucing something like this and making a big fuss over it, nobody, on the entire staff thought, hey lets inform our "other " customers that this a US thing?
I've only one more thing to say.
Bethesda here I come, bring on Elder Scrolls 5! Cause I'm about done here..
