The above thread was created to earn points the unique link each person has. Please come and support the exchange.
Also I sympathize with our non-USA comrades, if you you can find it in your heart to help those who can participate it would be doubly appreciated given your circumstances.

Seriously, there was no need for a countdown. It's irrelevant to everyone outside the US and even if it wasn't, still does not require a countdown.
It absolutely needed a countdown. People are already collecting tokens. I'm already doing my best to collect them. Every minute of this counts.
Sour grapes would be if I wanted to participate, I don't. What I am disappointed in is that all this fuss over a stupid auction? I thought it was going to be something relevant, but if you're happy with your little tokens then I'm happy for you.

A stupid auction? Have you looked at the prize list? There are computers painted over with unique game artwork. This will absolutely be worth the effort and every minute of token collection will count!Ayanna Nyx wrote...

BUT to exclude residents of Canada, home of BioWare IIRC?, is tough.
To all the US american folks I can only recite Anders "Good luck with that.".
Cheers, folks.

I will not be bidding on computers, etc., since I'm sure there are die-hards out there who will devote every resource toward getting max points. Instead, I'll be happy with a poster

Yeah but the chances of winning something useful? Seriously....
But despite this, the reason so many people are pissed off (whether they wanted to participate or not) is because they were calling it an Epic Community Event, yet is only allows US users.... See the problem? People who may have wanted to participate can't cause they ain't in the US.

I don't know why everyone is throwing complaints on BioWare's doorstep. It says right there at the bottom, "Sponsored by EA Inc."
As for me, I don't think I'm going to waste my time trying to get points, when I'm sure I'll be outbid on the video card and the hard drive (only things I'm interested in) a million times over, by people who have nothing better to do than participate in this contest.
Well, I guess I'm interested in those computers/laptops too, but.. pfffft, fat chance.

Yeah, obviously legality in contest laws and the logistics of international mail didn't have anything to do with it.Ayanna Nyx wrote...

I'm still calling it sour grapes on 90% of the complaners.

Are you kidding? That would have been *genuinely* epic.Cancermeat wrote...
Well atleast its not some Dragon Age romance DLC pack.
Disappointed though I am by the over-hype, this is well-said and I agree. Kudos.Altered Idol wrote...
We've not lost anything have we?
We're
still going to get ME3 and DA2 at some point and its not like this is
taking away anything from the games we already have. Yes it would have
been nice to have something a bit more inclusive but all in all, I'm not
too fussed.
(But, Bioware, have a few words with your marketing department, please?)

Are you guys this out of touch with how this makes the community outside of the 48 included states feel?
Honestly. If you are only going to include the states why on earth would you put the countdown up for everyone and call it an epic community event.
You are based in Canada and Canadians can't play.
If your goal was to ****** off a whole bunch of people with this promotion, then I believe you've suceeded.
Wow.

Yup, that is exactly it. It is not really what they have done in terms of the auction, but how it was promoted to the 'community'.Ayanna Nyx wrote..
