So was this actually a countdown to how many days you had left before alienating a whole lot of fans?

Awww, super cute. In fact, if after the countdown, this pic showed up with 'look at the cute wee bunny' underneath it, I think we would have all responded more positively lol

Just a reminder to you guys that the humorous signatures might not be sending the message you want to convey :pinched:

Marketing people have no soul and the sarcasm might be lost on them. Besides, all publicity is good publicity. From purely a publicity standpoint, the countdown and even the reaction was a success !

So IF biowarEA actually reads your posts, they will most likely go:

"Bah the kiddies are acting up, but when we release our next $$DLC$$$, they will buy them up like hotcakes anyway. *shrug*"

Like hell they will. They haven't convinced me with Awakening and I'm sure they won't convince me with whatever else they release next.

Marketing people are human.  Can the sarcasm, many of us know people in marketing departments.

I do think EA and/or Bioware need to really be a little more straightforward and stop thinking in cold, calculated PR terms.  Everything seems prepared and calculated a little too much.  They could learn a lesson from Valve, which actually did some nice stealth marketing for Portal 2 by doing something really neat.

Somebody make a sig that says, "I used to be part of the community, but now I'm just Floridian. At least we have nice beaches. In fact, I was going to have a beach party, and invite Bioware, but now they're not invited."

Don't worry, they'll use their money and go somewhere else than Florida.

Edit: Actually, they'll use their money to go anywhere but outside the states (florida and NYC excluded).

lol I guess that could've worked. People seem to have a critical weakness to bunnies ;)

Sad thing is if  Bio hadn't gone overboard with a countdown and this big contest for US only, and instead had some simpler event where you could win DLCs or unique ingame items or even just special forum avatars, everyone could've participated and I doubt anyone would complain that it wasn't awesome enough. Oh well, hope they enjoy the RAGE. :P

The Bio-community must be totally awesome if this is how vocal the non-community is. :P

The sigs are most awesome by the way, nice work Varenus. This whole thing is remarkably silly and could have been easily avoided, it like nothing else before it makes me want to 'facepalm'. =|

There's a Bio-community? I thought they either joined us or got burned at the stake.
