I think what we have here is a difference in understanding of the words "Epic" and "Community".
I can't help but agree with CloeMR.
Screw this.

A stupid auction? Have you looked at the prize list? There are computers painted over with unique game artwork. This will absolutely be worth the effort and every minute of token collection will count!Ayanna Nyx wrote...
Sour grapes would be if I wanted to participate, I don't. What I am disappointed in is that all this fuss over a stupid auction? I thought it was going to be something relevant, but if you're happy with your little tokens then I'm happy for you.

And I agree it is kinda weird that this required a counter--I thought it was going to be a release date for da 2 or some sort of free dlc or something. It's kinda fun that they're having the bazaar thing, but I know if I was outside the US (or in NY and FL for that matter) I'd probably be super pissed off too. Maybe they'll do some sort of separate event for you guys? Or maybe as it goes on it'll be fixed?

But I suppose Epic Community Event is more catchy than "Epic US-Only and even then not all states Community Event"
Its no defence mind you, its very misleading and disappointing to alot of fans.

Yeah, obviously legality in contest laws and the logistics of international mail didn't have anything to do with it.Ayanna Nyx wrote...
Yeah but the chances of winning something useful? Seriously....
But despite this, the reason so many people are pissed off (whether they wanted to participate or not) is because they were calling it an Epic Community Event, yet is only allows US users.... See the problem? People who may have wanted to participate can't cause they ain't in the US.
I'm still calling it sour grapes on 90% of the complaners.
yeah then they shouldn't be calling it an Epic Community Event with a countdown, getting everyone's hopes up.
I have no problem they have an auction. at all, a bit lame, but I don't care. And I think most people don't care about participating, it's the fact that everyone outside the US is being ignored. If you can't either see that or appreciate it, then there's something wrong with you. But if you're happy to jump around with your tokens on twitter then have a ball, seriously.
Was just expecting something a little more interesting revolving around present or future gaming.

I just really question whether it needed a week long countdown.

a simple sorry would go a long way for many of us "non-community members" i guess

I think the contest is pretty cool, and there's definitely some nice things to win.

I think it's very cool, but why would you advertised it to your entire community when only 48 states can play?
It is IMHO very, very poor marketing.

It wouldn't be epic and it wouldn't deserve a counter even if all countries were included.Alodar wrote...
Wow.
Are you guys this out of touch with how this makes the community outside of the 48 included states feel?
Honestly. If you are only going to include the states why on earth would you put the countdown up for everyone and call it an epic community event.
You are based in Canada and Canadians can't play.
If your goal was to ****** off a whole bunch of people with this promotion, then I believe you've suceeded.
That said: I think they were on crack while discussing whether this would be a good idea or not.

Very poor or very clever, cause it did get them a lot of attention, didn't it....
