@FrostLazer: somehow i doubt they wil mis those €30,-

True. Its sad though

Its not because of the money going to Bioware. I just can't get exited about awakening anymore. They have led me down big time with this Bazaar thing

Holy crap. That banner is the sex.

Truly fabulous.

I can't take credit for it, I just stole it from one of Maria's posts. But I agree, truly fierce, fine and fah-bu-luss. *round of applause to whoever made it*

Wow. So it's sad but true. EA has swallowed Bioware whole, and will spit its broken, mangled and bled dry corpse out soon.

Although, I must say, this is a prime example on how to anger and disappoint the majority of paying customers.

I own one game with the EA logo on it. Yes, you guessed it, it's DA:O. I'll get Awakening eventually, but I'll make sure it's second hand. EA will not get my cash. I will treasure DA:O as the last of its kind, the last grand stand of a company I used to trust.

This is unacceptable. I doubt very much people would be this upset and disappointed if it had been made clear that due to [insert excuse] only US citizens were eligible - well, as long as they don't live in NY or FL.

*goes to the EA graveyard to check for a freshly dug grave next to the Maxix/Westwood/et al graves*

Well if they didn't have the six day count down timer, didn't call it an epic community event and made it clear it was US only (not just hide it in the rules, but say it right away) I wouldn't mind as much, but they did everything to get u exited only to find out at the peak that it isn't for you

Anything labled "Community Event" is going to be terrible. I was expecting some new facebook page or something equally asinine. This however was even worse, an auction using imaginary tokens to give away stuff that's cluttering up the office. A yard sale. Great work EA and whoever from Bioware that OKed it.

At least use real money and give proceeds to charity. Then there would be an actual point to it all and you could've used Ebay and been able to ship the majority of the items abroad.

Send the guy a PM if you want an Asian one (it was you who asked for the Asian one, right? Otherwise I'm going to feel stupid) - he may not be online right now, I'm sure he'll do you one :)

They do... but really,  how does one go about putting out the fires on this one?

Short of Cancelling the entire thing  (which they're not gonna do, but damn, that would eclipse epic!)   Here are the only  responses I can imagine:

1)  They can  issue a generic apology,   then make a vague promise about the future. then proceed to lock all the Bazaar threads.

2) they can have a couple of staff members come in and engage THIS ENTIRE FORUM OF ANGRY POSTERS in some back and forth debate

3) They can come on here, pretend to be Lawyers, and tell us why  the entire world except 48 states is excluded from this 'epic' community event .

If they do #1, the fires they're trying to control will get larger.
If they do #2, they're going to get  virtually slaughtered.
If they do #3, they're going to get owned by REAL lawyers who post here, and who know  more than they do.

This is truly a no win, and one of the most spectacular crash and burns I've seen  since Troika went out on its shield.

Please note that you get 1750 points for an awakening expansion and only 1200 for Dragon Age:Origins. That means they are just trying to collect more cash and convince us to buy the expansion. Also the same thing with clicking the referral link on facebook to earn points, just using us for additional promotion. And they are all doing it on Bioware's 15th birthday.Disgusting, just disgusting.

Yep.  And they have the arrogant audacity to claim that they're doing all of this to show their appreciation to this community.

What a sick joke.  I think I'll also show my appreciation.... by never giving them another penny of my money.

I doubt that there will be an apology. They do what they always do when things get rough: They hide their head in the sand like an ostrich.

once again it must be explained to people regarding contests that are not open to certain states or countries as to why this is...it is NOT because of Bioware but because of the laws in whatever state or country you live in. Look it up before you whine people.

They don't need to research anything - EA already knows everything they need, with all their regional divisions.

Also, the point is not so much that it's US-only, but that it was announced as an event for the ENTIRE community, including those outside the US.
