I wonder when they are going to react with a response to all this critique...and what will they say =(

Well,  they should probably put up another timer, in order to "count down" to an epic community apology.

Perhaps they will only do it then for the other americans (ny and florida) Posted Image

There has been silence on other issues here, in the past, just expect more of the same. I highly doubt we'll see anyone from EA ..deign to talk to us ..really.

We all know there is that group out there that strongly believe that the United States of America is the cause of all the worlds problems. Even things that happened hundreds years before the nation was even founded or became a big name in the international dealings :(

That's really a minority, Addy. You know how happy and proud the whole world was when B.O. won it, right? Now, there's one very stupid person, whichever nationality he/she may be, that really deserved a spanking for having this "epically failed" idea of inviting the whole community to an "epic" party that isn't that great, geting us all excited about it for 6 days watching a clock countdown like drooling fans we are and then shutting the door in our faces. Well, not all of us!

Thank you Obtusifolius. I just wish someone could refute it and prove me wrong.
Why do I keep seeing a gigantic, ugly spider sucking the life out of something, leaving it a soulless, lifeless husk? I wonder how much worse things will get?
If the old forums were available, people could check and see how different everything has become. Sad. Truly sad.

This is kind of the image in my head as well, Sabriana....it's really too bad.

I think that might be it. My mom and aunt tell stories about how they used to go to Happy Jack's all the time when they were younger. But then, my grandma used to own a cottage in Ontario back then. Looong before I was born. So they used to spend their summers and stuff in Ontario when they were growing up.

Haha. At least then I couldn't be picked on for being an American. It's not my fault Bioware decided to hold a US only event. Hells, I can't even participate in it. If I suffer from the anti-American stuff too, the least I deserve is to be able to participate.

Fort Erie, in the summertime, is basically a suburb of Buffalo. Lot of NYers have cottages still along the lake.
Now that I have met someone online from around here, I have to go away for the summer. I operate/manage a club outside Fort Erie in the country, and the owner won't provide Internet service. So I have to powerdown the computer at home, and move into my residence at the club for the summer season starting next week. 7 Months without Internet Access !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least I can play my games in the evenings. (sob) (whine) (cry)

Community FAIL, event FAIL, response from organizers FAIL.

Awakenings will be my last BioWare purchase and not because of anything like this silly failed event, but because it has become clear beyond any reasonable doubt that the quality of BioWare's products has taken a back seat to short-term ripoff art mainly targeted at the console community. If I ever play another BioWare game, it will be downloaded free which is sad given that I chose to pay for all the Dragon Age DLC as well as the expansion despite how easily they could have been stolen. More likely however is that I will simply never look back. Thanks for Baldur's Gate 2, the NWN series, and DA:O (all the DLC and the expansion were garbage by comparison).

Hi all

Dont think i have posted before but i thought i would get something off of my chest.

I have been a long time Bioware fan, owning every game they have made ecept MDK.

I didnt like the direction they took with Mass Effect 2 and then when Return to Ostagar and Awakaning came out, both with less quality than i have come to expect from Bioware i begun to think my loyalty was beginning to be misplaced.

Then this stupid auction appeared.

I think its a little harsh that most people cant participate but i dont blame them for that. Its very possible and probable that its not their fault. But their marketing was far too much. A count down to all of us was unfair and a countdown at all was ludicrous.

In my opinion Bioware has gone the way of so many other decent developers. They are set to purely earn money by gimics, fancy graphics, short games that lack gameplay and false advertising.

I think now is the time to buy Bioware games ONLY when they hit the bargain bucket.

To finish my post i would also like to say, though i dont directly blame them for anything i have mentioned in this post, that i cannot stand EA!

*hug*

Um ... back at ya :)

Just wanted to say that my video is not zhitty, it was meant to be funny and protesting at the same time, shows some epic fail moment, a funny map and has Seth & Amy on it! The other 100 DA videos of mine are just a fan's tribute!

The other vids linked here, either made by us, the gamers, or just directing to some funny stuff there, are way too cool to be considered zhitty as well!

It's unfortunate but true. Bioware's reputation seems to be on the line, however, we hear nothing but silence. An apology would go far, but that's not EA's style. Their PR department has a bad reputation, and apparently with just cause.
Don't expect me to wish Bioware a happy birthday. I feel more like grieving for a dear departed.
I fear the worst. I had a bad feeling right from the get-go when it was announced that Bioware would join up with EA. The bad feeling never lessened, on the contrary, it kept rising in leaps and bounds. Poor quality merchandise, customer milking, misleading statements, unclear announcments, no connection to their fanbase - yes, that is the exact behavior that had me stay away from EA labels until DA:O. If anyone other than Bioware had developed DA:O, I still would not own any EA labels.
I decided to trust Bioware when I purchased DA:O, but now I don't trust them anymore. Anything they put out/announce/whatever will be treated with caution, research, and a wait-and-see attitude.
Ah, well. I won't hold my breath for any kind of statement, let alone an apology to the majority of their custormers. Silent is the night.

Well I'm not as miffed as I was yesterday, and I did participate in a small lonely thread that wished Bioware Happy 15th anniversary.

I see this as partly Bioware's fault..because you would think that someone would stand up and say...hey wait a minute, this isn't going to go over very well,  we are excluding 9 tenths of the world and playing to those 48 states only.    hehe

I mean I need to think here, that not everyone over at Bioware has their head up their behind..even if they are currently employees of  EA.

So what happened,  were they ignored..(note I am attempting to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt here)  shouted down...what?

Supposedly the two Bioware CEOs sit on the board, granted they are in lesser positions of importance (from what I understand) than many of the other EA members also sitting at that board table.    Still...I can't believe that...NO ONE had their light bulb go on about this.

Or is the PR dept and marketting depts just allowed free reign or carte blanche to do as they please?

One has to wonder.

Haha, yeah. Lots of people from Buffalo go to Ontario in the summer. We don't have the cottage anymore, my grandma sold it before I was born.

There's lots of good games out there to play though. ~patpat~ Dragon age, Kotor, NWN, NWN2. Er.. I haven't played Mass effect yet, so I can't comment about that.(It's part of why I'm bummed about the event. I'd have loved to win a copy of ME. It's so hard to find ME 1 in stores. :crying:)

Do they have cottages in Mexico?

My grandma's family owned a lot of land at one point. They drank all their money away, and sold it all off long before I was born. So we don't have anything. Hells, we couldn't even keep her house after she died because of the debt she was in.(Not that we really wanted her house. It was a tiny place in really bad shape.)

So.. What did I get? Stories about the cottage in Canada, a story about how my grandma had her own pony as a child, and lots of screwed up family history stories from my mom and aunt.(My grandma was not a very good mother to put it lightly.)
