There's lots of good games out there to play though. ~patpat~ Dragon age, Kotor, NWN, NWN2. Er.. I haven't played Mass effect yet, so I can't comment about that.(It's part of why I'm bummed about the event. I'd have loved to win a copy of ME. It's so hard to find ME 1 in stores. )

I can even take my older 'puter and play my Icewind dale and BG 1 and 2 on it. I always miss my internet fix when I go. OTOH, I do spend a lot more time outdoors so I don't feel so bad during the day. :happy:

So wait a second, the countdown clock, which we were hinted at by bioware devs it was a good day to be a dragon age fan.... was really this "prize" crap, which excludes everybody outside of the us? Well, having 2000 tokens and being English, the **** is the point in you even giving me any tokens.



This whole thing, from the awakening "febuary 2011" release date, to the bioware clock, we expected something more, and what do we get? heh.



I know I shouldnt complain, because really this "Bazaar" is a bonus. But what sucks is that it says its rewarding bioware fan loyalty for the past 15 years. Yeah, because even half your fanbase is based in the US. This is bull****.



And a small message, just incase, if its EA's bright idea, you might want to start telling them to ****** off. This just feels like the first step towards bioware becoming a smouldering carcass with EA stoking the fire. If it was your own "bright" idea, heh, PR's should be in touch with the community, and base ideas from what they learn. They shouldnt just sit in a boardroom and throw **** onto a whiteboard until they think they have a good idea. Thats when the hate begins to stem.

Apolgies for the language, but im from England, and apparently not a loyal fan or customer, just something horrid stuck to a US corporations shoe.

My computer can still play Icewind dale and BG. Ooh. There's a mod out for the original Icewind dale, with characters for you to take along. It's really well done, I think. I've played through part of it.

And hells, there's enough mods out for BG1 and 2 to keep you busy for months.

Only if you could participate yourself. sounds like flawed logic was used. Exclude 90% of your community so that they can tell their friends in the US to participate. >_>

As for Canada being disincluded in this contest,  I HAVE to say this is the first time ever that I have experienced this ..been online gaming for a number of years.   I realize the province of Quebec has their own set of laws regarding lotteries and the like...but the rest of Canada pretty much "usually" gets included in things that the US is doing.   

And for Bioware to disinclude their own country....you have to know ..that is EA pulling the puppet strings..there's no other explanation.

As far as prizes being given out,  I do know that sponsors...(my husband has been a sponsor on a minor scale for golfing etc)   Will hand out several products that they have in stock, as door prizes or what have you.   This is a way to promote their company name and to create goodwill.

Some of the sponsors I am noting are ..Dell, AMD..etc.   Aren't those fairly big companies...relatively speaking?  In the grand scheme of things $62, 000 is not really alot of money for all these big guys combined, so what the heck is going on?

But you should complain - they're making you feel unloved, despite everything you've given them over the years. If your best friend whom you've been close with for many years doesn't invite you to his wedding, you have a right to complain about it. This is not much different.

Come to think of it, the feb 2011 thing was only in US boxes, maybe it's another thing that is only for the part of the community that really matters ?

I have so many mods installed for BG2. Mostly character mods and romance mods.

The IWD character mod was made by Kulyok, who also did the Xan mod for BG2, and his part in the NPC pack for BG1. It's very very well done.

Well, judging by the forums so far, this "epic" community event somehow feels like a real fiasco.
Then again, I suppose the american members are just happy they get less competition for the prizes...

I had most of the Baldurdash and Gibberling mods. I remember having the Xan mod. Everyone had the romance mods, Multi-romance and the improved Jaheira romance mod. Geez, you got so attached to your NPCs in that series.
