was it really that NO ONE of bioware saw this coming?! did you all think we non-us (or ny, fl) residents would just go "oh..one week hype for this...aw well.."?!
a simple sorry would go a long way for many of us "non-community members" i guess

Indeed. I want an apology. They won't give it though.

I never thought BioWare would stoop so low.

I think the grand prize should be: You get a quarter for everytime somebody says: Epic Fail blah blah blah.....quak quak.

Lets not overreact.I know its not what most of us wanted to hear, me included.

I was expecting something a little bit more inclusive given the build up.

The countdown and the "Epic Community Event" insignia gave the impression it was going to be something quite major and to people eligible its a good thing.

My only problem has been the overhyping of the whole thing.

BUT..

We've not lost anything have we?

We're still going to get ME3 and DA2 at some point and its not like this is taking away anything from the games we already have. Yes it would have been nice to have something a bit more inclusive but all in all, I'm not too fussed.

Swings and Roundabouts.

This attitude is actually quite self-defeating.

If you were disappointed that (according to you)

1) they overhyped it

2) it's not inclusive enough

3) it's not what you wanted to hear

then to say it's not a big deal is one thing.  (You're right, it's not the end of the world  )

But to say that

1) it means nothing at all

2) you haven't lost anything

3) it's not taking away from the games you already have

is false, contradictory, and only hurts you the consumer more than anything else.

It is an indication of the direction that Bioware/EA is going in. It does have an impact now and will have an impact on those future games you're referring to.   The company culture has changed irrevocably.

Honestly, I would have been happy if they said 5 words about the next expansion, game or w/e...

Never was really hyped when I heard that it was community event.

I think the contest is pretty cool, and there's definitely some nice things to win.
I just really question whether it needed a week long countdown.

I think it's very cool, but why would you advertised it to your entire community when only 48 states can play?

It is IMHO very, very poor marketing.

Very poor or very clever, cause it did get them a lot of attention, didn't it....

That it did -- if you believe in the addage that there is no bad press.
However, BioWare is killing their reputation with many of its one time fans.

Rofl, "epic community event".

I was right to trust my intuition telling me it was nothing worth getting worked up about.

This is the type of thing that makes me second guess purchasing any Bioware products, honestly.

Incredibly poor form, Bioware.

yeah but they know the die hards will buy no matter what. its like those stupid LOTRs fans complaining about the 80 editions available, they can b-itch and moan all they like, but they still went out and bought them all.

What a nonsense.

I understand the need for advertising, but limiting the whole thing just for the US is stupid.

You don't have only americans buyers. You have them all over the world. Like me in Brazil. Like several others.

Frankly, I have to say I'm disappointed.

Next time, think bigger. Think World.

Do you seriously think they didn't see all this coming? Do you really believe they didn't weight their options?

All this "I'M TAKING THIS PERSONALLY BECAUSE MY FEELINGS ARE HURT AND I WANT CONTEST PRIZES TOO" stuff is nothing but sour grapes. This is a marketing ploy. If they could have included the rest of the world in such a big exciting marketing stunt, they would have.

Everyone acts as though contest laws, international contest laws, and international mail have nothing to do with this. The immediate assumption seems to be "BioWare just likes to insult its fans" and that is a load of [stuff that is not very nice].

Because this has even the slightest thing to do with the quality of their games.

The best part of this thread is going to be the rabid fanboys coming up with clever ways to make EA/Bioware look good in all of this.

You're quite correct. This has nothing to do with the quality of their games. Well done.
