I wonder if they would do something about this gigantic failure if most of the people eligible to participate simply didn't.. Since finding out about the exclusion of most of the community in this event (about ten minutes after I logged on and saw what the "event" was) I haven't participated. I think its BS. There is are probably dozens (if not more) threads already of people saying how much they hate America because of this. This is definitely an EPIC FAIL. One hell of a way to bring the "community" together, Bioware (or whoever is responsible for this crap).

Somehow I doubt there will be an overall boycott...there are already some I have seen, attempting to cull clicks or votes for their prize.

Thats how it is.   Its really like attempting to herd cats..getting people together and agreeing on one course of action, especially over the internet, where everyone is pretty much anonymous. :)

That's kinda what I was thinking, too.. Was worth a shot, though. lol

Here is something I don't get... how do you win an opinion based challenge? 'What is your favorit DA:O character?'... 'What race did you choose in DA:O?' - its not a challenge at that point, its a random grab bag (no, I haven't won any of them - not sour grapes though, just wondering why they are 'Challenges' when it is subjective)

Well I guess Carlos..that in that case with the answer being subjective to whomever created it, you would need to be psychic, to guess the right answer. hahaha

The one thing that has me confused is why they would do a PR campaign, which is really all this contest is, that also excludes a large portion of the community, instead of simply fixing the game, which would make the whole community happy.
The time and effort would be better spent fixing the game, which in turn would get them more sales and happier fans who would recommend buying the game to others. It just doesn't make sense...Image IPB

"Run come rally"

What would be nicer than everyone in the 48 allowed states to run from their event?

To not enter their system is a nice solidarity act for the whole community. This is what I call a true community. And more than that, it would be a nice "ralliement shout" : run away from their evil descrimination methods unto the whole community

Sure at the end, the whole community will apologise for not having played their birthday game, for making Bioware/EA and all the sponsors a true and epic commercial fail.

Remembering that without a true community, Bioware wouldn't be what it is.Really and truly.

Singing to Boware:

No more discremination

Until all is looked upon equal

Until the color of man's skin makes no more significant than the color of man eyes

Until there's no more first, secon, third class nation of your community.

Without us, you're nothing at all

Without us, you're nothing at all

It's easier to sell sizzle than to cook a good steak, but eventually, Bioware will realize that the customers are getting hungry.

Because the PR and Marketting folks are a different  department, with a different budget, and have nothing to do with bug fixing. :)

Watch it, rate it, comment, vote and read the description! (And watch the Video Response for another good one! Really!)

At 0days:00hours:00mins:00secs ... it did not start... unless the Epic Event was the Server Crash... hmmm... come to think of it... it was Epic... FAIL!

The only three explainations I can come up with is:

1: EA/Bioware made an epic fail.Plain and simple.

2: They plan on having a bazaar for the other countries later on.

3: It's an April Fool's joke.

And if it is an April Fool's joke, what better way to celebrate their 15th anniversary than to fool the whole community? Thing is, not alot of people are going to be happy.

I'm not participating in the bazaar not only because I think it's unfair that everyone can't participate at the same time but also because not everyone has alot of time to do the contests to earn alot of tokens so they can win items. And I'm certainly not going to sign up on Twitter.

They could've just released free DLC so everyone here can celebrate.

I highly doubt they're going to do any more bazaars for any other countries. Because then, they would have to do one specifically for NY and Florida too. Since we're not lucky enough to be included with the other 48 states of the US.(I'm still pretty sure the "legal" issues are bs. NY state has lotteries that they run with several other states. And considering this doesn't fall under the lotto/gambling laws, that has nothing to do with it.)

I also doubt it's an april fool's joke. Then they would have succeeded at pissing off all of their fans. Not just the majority of us.

Yes, I'm still disappointed that I can't participate for whatever reason there is. But that doesn't bother me half as much as not being considered part of the community, or part of the US to participate. Hells, they didn't disclude Hawaii or Alaska. Those two states are usually the ones discluded from nation wide events like this. Not NY or Florida.

Humm "huge views on our site"...well if they were looking to attract attention they certainly did that.

Too bad there was no follow-through..on their end of things. It could have been "EPIC"...^^

This is the thread we have been directed to...instead of starting multiple threads about the same issue. :)

Well since this whole thing blew up in their face, we have not seen any DEV's make any official response to the disappointment in their marketing scheme.

Maybe they're in hiding?

Really, the devs do not deserve this - they're awesome and want to make quality games. EA's marketing department isn't doing them justice with actions like these - they deserve better than that.

For the 10000th time the issue isnt the contest, the issue is the false advertising before the contest, implying that it was to be community wide. And THAT was the fault of Bioware.Pay attention.

Yep... and the fact that we were all invited to some EPIC event, spent 6 days on a queue for admittance and what? what? The event is far from Epic and we had the door shut right at our faces!

That I agree with and in one of my earlier post I pointed the finger at EA for this mess. But the Dev's should come into the ofiicial threads and discuss this with the whole community, and apologize for this so called Epic Bioware community event. Let's face it the countdown clock , the title saying an epic bioware community event, all the hype only to exclude most of the community after the site crash when the clock ran to 0 that seemed to be pre-ordained for this event.

I think the Dev's are good guys, but the silence to the community is not going to increase their product sales or repair the good will the company damage when they pulled this stunt.

They should, yes. There are better responses than locking other threads and telling people to use either these threads or the OT forum...
