The only three explainations I can come up with is:
1: EA/Bioware made an epic fail.Plain and simple.
2: They plan on having a bazaar for the other countries later on.
3: It's an April Fool's joke.

And if it is an April Fool's joke, what better way to celebrate their 15th anniversary than to fool the whole community? Thing is, not alot of people are going to be happy.

I'm not participating in the bazaar not only because I think it's unfair that everyone can't participate at the same time but also because not everyone has alot of time to do the contests to earn alot of tokens so they can win items. And I'm certainly not going to sign up on Twitter.

They could've just released free DLC so everyone here can celebrate.

I think people would be even more pissed of if they said "Hey, Aprils Fools!" Because it can mean one of two things;

a) Its a cover-up for their mistake. A bad one at that. Or,
B) That they intentionally set the forums on fire

I am very disappointed with this great event. Bioware just said me that I am second class customer.

I don't think anyone at Bioware is really at liberty to discuss anything EA does...

I agree.

They need to free themselves from EA, if that is at all possible -- even if it means abandoning the old games and starting a new one, or abandoning the name "BioWare" itself... We'll know it's them.
I surely would support the artists, If they said they were parting and going back to doing their little thing. And I'm sure many would pre-order their new game -- not only because it would be a great game, no doubt, but to wage war on EA, hehe.
Power to Bioware! Image IPB

Of course, I am assuming, here, that the people at BioWare have come to see that staying with EA may not be the best of things... If they do want to stay with EA, then: No comment.

You are not alone there my friend. They effectively announced it to me as well (and many others). Although I'd pretty much worked it out anyway with EA forcing us here in England to have the gimped version of the Collector's Edition of Origins with virtualy nothing in it, for the same knock up price as everywhere else. I didn't need a slap in the face to make me feel unloved.

I think this is more of a case of EA racism than a Bioware error.

My only real thought on the issue is this:

It's EA. Why are people still surprised?

Um...

I'm in the US, so I'm "eligible" for this "event".

But you know what? I'm gonna skip it anyway. Too many hoops to jump through. I'm not chasing around twitter and facebook on a quest for tokens.

Sorry the rest of the community got burned on this. On principle, it's wrong. In practice, I don't think you're actually missing that much.

Full of "Meh!" IMO.

P.S.  We needs a thin US protest banner...

From all of us not from the US - thank you.

Epic communication fail by EA/BW.  A simple * on the countdown clock would have prevented much of this.

EA must have a subsidiary in a loosely regulated jurisdiction that has no problems with "international lotteries" etc - if (IF) that was the issue.  If tax & legal were the reasons this thing never went out to the majority of the "community", they need to fire their consultants something bad.  Someone is covering their a** a bit too zealously.

Its been around 24h (maybe more) by now. And we don't have any respond from BW. They don't sleep because they tweet questions for tokens as I write. So they just ignore us.

So everyone, now not only we are not part of community but also we are not worth to explain/apologize.

Europe goes to sleep now... you know Xbox Live Director's Account been hacked recently... just saying.

Naw. Bioware cares. You just have to remember that it's not them who make final decisions for these things- they just do all the development.

I believe that you are making the common mistake of assuming BioWare controls EA's marketing.  Seems to be a similar lie to how Mhairi was hyped as a full companion.  BioWare made her as a redshirt, EA Marketing lied.  Which might be why BioWare hasn't said much about the constant whine since yesterday... Anyone hungry for some cheese?

Yeah. EA has always been notorious for their cutt-throat marketing schemes. This is no exception.
