Two hours ago Stanley Woo closed a topic and asked to stop spamming the forums. I think thats all we're going to get.
Huh? He only did that to keep the topic to this thread, not to silence people. I never understood peoples desire to create a new thread to discuss something being talked about in a thread that already exists. An active one no less.
I was under the impression that these particular sticky threads, found in all 3 sections of the forum (Off-topic, DA general and ME2 general) should be for people to discuss the contest, spamming their token url to attempt luring suckers into clicking on them. Thus I tried to have a regular thread to discuss our disappointment. Of course that crazy bot locked them.
Now, since we have 3 threads with the same title, all stickies, over 3 section of the forum, I just post the same message on all 3 of them. Sucks to be ignored by 2 whole threads when you think you're saying something important about such an epic fail!

Its a nice thought LeifaBut in reality these games cost in the millions to make, they need a guaranteed, reliable income to continue producing.
And to pay their employees.
Well where there's a will, there's a way.
It's called starting from scratch, and they did it once, right? So I can't see why they couldn't it again, and with the help they would, no doubt, get, it would surely be much easier this time around.
It would surely beat all of this crap they're going through...
Meh, just MHO
Like I said, I'm an idealist.

The days of a bunch of artists and programmers getting together and knocking off a game for cheap is long past.
It's almost a given that you need a publisher who will front the developement money.
Ask Sir-Tech about that. It's unfortunate because a lot of good stuff gets left on the boards because the MoneyMen won't fund it.

With today's economy it wouldn't be a very good idea. It takes more than a solid fanbase to fund a high profile gaming company these days.

Yup..it all boils down to money and will the investors fund you.Or even like your ideas.
Which is why, in the future, you will see little risk taking in plot and theme in RPGs. MoneyMen tend to be conservative, and while they will risk money on new and improved technology, ideas that go into unexplored avenues will be harder to get funding. The mantra will be "Keep it Mainstream, Keep it safe"

BIOWARE'S EPIC COMMUNITY COUNTDOWN SAGA - ON YOUTUBE
Once upon a time, BioWare built up hype with a 7 day long countdown to an "Epic Community Event", which turned out to be an event that excluded most of the community.
People had been misled, hyped up for what turned out to be nothing, and were generally angry at the implication that they apparently didn't count as part of the community.
This is their story.

Wow, can't belive how big the threads about this has become, and some legendary signatures, disapointed a bioware dev/staff hasn't posted a comment, and desided to hide instead.
They're probably waiting for it to blow over, ..April 6th isn't that far away, then there will be new things to talk about...well for residents of the 48 states..that is.

Alright, time to listen you lowly maggots.
We have raged on for long enough now. It is obvious we won't achieve anything with endlessly ranting and spamming. Thus let us use our powers for good instead of evil.
We know BioWare isn't an unreasonable company, neither is EA. How poor their choice of words to advertise this event may have been, there is nothing they can do to circumvent the laws that prevent a contest such as this one from being held worldwide.
But all hope is not yet lost:
Last year, during the final weeks of ye olde Mass Effect forum, BioWare gave us the Gift of the Yeti Facebook game. Each play of the game had BioWare raise a penny for gamer children's charity Child's Play, up to a total of $10.000 USD.
What we ask of BioWare is to repeat this act of kindness. To allow not only every ineligible member of the community, but also every willing legible one to donate his or her Tokens to Child's Play. Whatever a single Token might be worth in US or Canadian dollars is up to BioWare (and EA, I guess) to decide, the same goes for the maximum amount of money set aside for donation.
In the end, this solution will likely prove to be the best for each of the involved parties: BioWare/EA can not only set this incident/miscommunication straight, but also get some good publicity out of this. The community members which were not allowed to participate, can participate for a good cause. And let us not forget Child's Play, which will be allowed to help even more children.
We have saved Ferelden from the Darkspawn, we have fought for the lost, now let us Fight for the Children.

So, has anyone won tokens from the Twitter challenges yet?
Um...no? Being that I don't live in one of the 48 states eligible..my current tokens are basically ..null and void.

Nice idea, but before you get us all to agree to your plan, you might want to run it past Bioware and EA. Because otherwise, it has no power.

That said... the very reasons they stated in their official response have been stated over and over again by community members trying to be helpful, and they got shat on by the folks raging. Just goes to show ya huh?
