So... it seems people expected something interesting from a "Bioware epic event".

The Bazzar thread must be restricted to US residents only! Let them have fun with it!

We ARE the world and we have fun with these!

Are you saying that we don't have a right to be upset? Sour grapes this and that...Of course its sour grapes! We were all hyped about the announcement of an "epic COMMUNITY event" and the fact that there was a counter for it. And now we are excluded. So much for the "community"...

I would have appreciated that they would have told us its only for americans....That would have spared much of the (rightful) whining...

Disappointment I can certainly understand, because this does indeed suck for you all. It's just the spam of  "BioWare has stollen this from me!!!!" that has popped up in less than an hour and really isn't all that justified.

No love for Canada, eh bioware...  Thats too bad, but in general alberta based companies tend to forget to lay some loving on thier home country.

Ah well, can't miss what we never had :P

This is going to be all over IGN this week, too. This will end in nothing but bad press and destroying community good will.

Saying things like, “Lol this doesn’t affect me, imma bidding rite nao” doesn’t help the majority of the actual community that this event was advertised for.

A very lackluster resolution to all the waiting. Why did a trivial thing like this require six day a countdown? Thankfully, I don't really care either way - living in Europe, I think it would have been more annoying if I'd actually be interested in such auctioning. Lame, yes, but still I feel a huge number of people here are relishing in making a mountain out of a molehill. But I guess that's always to be expected on the Internet.

The idea of getting stuff by bidding with tokens is preposterous so I'm not that disappointed. I mean most of us are adults, the days we used to trade cards or marbles in the schoolyard are long gone.

Buying the game from special stores to get specific items was already a silly idea. Did the good people at Bioware/EA expect rabid fans to buy several versions of the game in order to get all those shiny items? Some of which are reserved to US residents like the Bulwark of the True King for instance.

Anyway, there is nothing remotely "epic" about this announcement. We're not fourteen year olds in need of a cheap thrill.

It's also a big letdown for the community after taking ages to release a very disappointing DLC (RtO) now we get another "epic" moment.

The saddest part being that not even all US residents can take part in this event. That's pretty lame as I can understand that non US residents are excluded from the community but that must sting for Bioware fans who live in New York and Florida.

So next time don't expect people to get thrilled about "epic" announcements and all that hype. I almost expected we'd learn more about DA2 or that a new DLC would be released.

Now, I really couldn't care less. Don't get me wrong I'll still buy and play your games but I won't waste too much time on the forums or the official website to be part of a community from which I am excluded for the sole reason that I live in Europe. The map that has been posted above clearly makes a point. You can't expect people outside the US to demonstrate and share their enthusiasm for your games if you treat your international fanbase like that.

We already got screwed with the price we paid in euros for DLCs and now you make it pretty clear that the community is essentially American. That's not a clever move but guess what, I'm pretty sure all your fans in the rest of the world (including New York and Florida) got your message loud and clear. That's pretty bad business Bioware.

If you really are upset. I think it'd be neat to see how many responses the poll can get.

As far as i can tell Bioware is only guilty of False advertising.  Which in itself isn't a huge issue but one that they could have researched a little better.  I'm not surprised though since the companies been in a downward spiral for a while now.

Actualy, false advertising is quite illegal in some countries.  There's lawsuits over it all the time.  I'm not commenting on it in terms of context here, just stating an interesting fact when you write things like "isn't a huge issue".

Actually, I don't even know that this could qualify as false advertising anywhere. There are some really heavy issues of interpretability of "community" and once they actually said what the announcement was, they clarified all legal limitations and technicalities.

Hell I'm usually a "fanboy" but this is just stupid... totally wasted my excitement... I eagerly waiting for the timer to countdown and was hopeful for something awesome but this is just... stupid.

Prolly not a legal issue as the term epic community event could be hard to quantify

April's Fool joke?

WTF? Having created one of the biggest DA sites out there, half of my staff, including me, gets excluded lol. Additionally, because of this "epic" countdown we re-scheduled kick-ass articles including something exclusive .. just to read US only.

Normally I'm a reasonable guy but this _really_ made me sick ...

Do better next time BioWare ... much better ...
