Disappointed...

Shouldn't Bioware offer the Bazaar to Canadians as they are a Canadian company???

Just askin'.

Still Disappointed.  :crying:

Do you think they are limited to the US because of various countries' laws about prize giveaways?

Probably part of the truth. Problem is they made their hype worldwide with a huge countdown.

Bioware must love their US community and hate the rest, by letting the hype run wouldwide

Thanks for nothing

What really gets me here is how mad people are getting at the whole "community" part when really the whole thing itself is just a marketing gimmick thats attempting to turn registered BioWare game users into viral marketeers for EA.

I mean I'm eligible and I don't give a flying fluck about this. Its just some EA marketing shark's brilliant idea to turn mindless BW fans into adbots on various social networks, for EA products in exchange for a CHANCE at winning stuff we can already BUY in about 80% of cases.

Its basically just marketing, and anyone mad about not being included in it is...might as well tattoo "CONSUMER WH*RE" on their foreheads and be done with it.

This whole deal is stupid, to be angry about not being allowed to participate is like being angry that you weren't chosen at the mall to take part in a "survey" that pays you 15 bucks if you go to several various stores in the mall and buy the equivalent of about 25 dollars worth of product from the stores to "evaluate" for the survey.

Its shark marketing, its EA making BW look like the biggest marketing wh*re in the gaming industry and frankly I'm disgusted with it.

BioWare can stand on its own two feet on the quality of their products alone. This crap is just crap.

What you need signature wise is one that says "I USED  TO BE PART OF THE COMMUNITY BUT THEN I GOT WISE TO EA'S MARKETING DIVISION AND DECIDED TO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO ANYTHING BIOWARE DOES UNLESS IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH A GAME."

Might be a bit big for a signature graphic.

Seriously people, get a grip, all you're missing out on here is the opportunity to be exploited and used by EA in a pilot marketing partnership between EA and several companies and BioWare is being used as the street corner pusher for the junk.

EDIT: Holy crap does this forum software have formatting issues.

You, ser, win.

The whole thing just REEKS of EA idiocy.
The real dumb thing is that before this, I didn't mind being part of the BioWare zombie tweeting fans. Because, you're absolutely right, the product stands on its own, and I feel no shame in promoting what I honestly see as a superior product.
Now...meh...I'll save my tweeting for someone who cares....

The local laws might be a factor sometimes, but it certainly is not that way for everyone.

Nice idea… it’s just America is not all the world…. Its favoritism. That, or just did not check where 75% of there fan base was.

Seriously, it's not favoritism, it's maximum return on the investment.  No company runs a promotion purely for appreciation, somewhere deep down money is involved whether in boosting current sales, or setting the stage for future sales.

By law, in the US, the sponsors of sweepstakes must not require the prize winners to pay any shipping or handing charges in order to win or receive their prizes,  add in customs duties and tax  responsibilities and some of the prizes are quite costly. Some of these prizes also may even be excluded from international shipment due to technology laws.  The fact that they can't even include Florida and New York demostrates how poorly designed the sweepstakes is.

The big Flaw in their approach is not coordinating events with their overseas promoters to run similar events in Europe and Oceania coinciding with this one at least.

So at a PR tool, it fails terribly, except in the U.S., simply by calling attention to itself to begin with.

@redleafchewer: Yes, and at the same time a cosmic no.
The event itself could have been designed to be int friendly. And I do not think EA needs extra ideas how they can use product placement etc in digital content.
Or do something for those that are excluded, like bioware points or something. You know how much buzz that couold create? You might end up having people buying the game and registering it quickly just for the chance to win some free points with a lower net value than the game they just bought.

*EDIT*  I hate this keyboard.
