Those of us familiar with EA and their methods of milking a cow to extinction should feel right at home.

Whats next? Dragon Age ... The Sims expansion?[/b]

I'm afraid to think you might be right.   Bioware..the "goose that laid the golden egg".

Well, i probably wouldn´t have participated because i dislike Twitter, but being a Bioware customer since day one, buying and playing every game, but then getting "outcast" of the "community" because i live in europe is..i don´t know..a slap in the face?

Disappointing realy.

Even if this is all EA´s doing, it will be Bioware who get´s the criticism when people think of this mess.

Well, not exactly the first stupid, idiotic thing EA has done to perfectly good, community minded companies... *stares at Harmonix* Yeah, Australia STILL doesn't have Rock Band 2, by the way...

someone should make also a signature banner that says

"I used to be part of the community, now I am just a green card holder"

Or.."I used to be a part of the community, now I'm just a Canadian".  :)

@redleafchewer: Yes, and at the same time a cosmic no.
The event itself could have been designed to be int friendly. And I do not think EA needs extra ideas how they can use product placement etc in digital content.
Or do something for those that are excluded, like bioware points or something. You know how much buzz that couold create? You might end up having people buying the game and registering it quickly just for the chance to win some free points with a lower net value than the game they just bought.

*EDIT*  I hate this keyboard.

Agreed, there are a variety of ways they could of approached it, hence my final sentence.

I fail at BBC code, how do I tag the link to display an image?

Never mine, I dragged it out of the dusty corners of my memory somewhere. Image IPB

I think the biggest insult to injury was the countdown and how the Bioware posters were like "OH IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME :D".

As a Canadian living in the UK, I'm screwed over twice!!

To be honest, I don't care that much about the Bazaar concept, but the fact that a Canadian company has excluded Canadian citizens (and the rest of the world) is outrageous! I'm seriously hoping this was an EA decision and not Bioware...

Even if Canada had recieved the contest, it's a little bit insulting to hype something up completely only to completely deny a very large part of the community.

All I can hope is that Bioware figure out how to actually do community relations and marketing before they launch TOR. This sort of fiasco is bad enough for the single player game community, but if they keep doing stuff like this for their MMO its going to be a whole lot worse.

What makes it even more a kick in the teeth is that previous Bioware contests had been much more open. They actually have been much more community wide, and that was without countdowns to get people interested.

Once again - bad form, Bioware.

Dave of Canada, I couldn't agree more - if it's the community, then it's the WHOLE community.

Isn't it just great that once again Bioware has ignored the rest of the planet. There was no Dr. Pepper equivalent for those that aren't in the US and now this.

PS anybody got an Australian banner for this?

I'm pretty sure you can still exploit the system, you don't need a unique code to get all items - you just need to make three different accounts and make them all based off the united states. I recieved all three items without purchasing a Dr.Pepper because somebody on the forums sent me a code.

It's not so much as being excluded as being misled. A community event that only pertains to a certain portion of that community, isn't exactly 'epic' is it?

Sure I don't believe all the advertising I hear, but if I'm led to believe that as part of the community this will mean something to me why shouldn't I be disappointed this isn't the case?

I don't think BW or EA are evil, but they should understand we don't appreciate being hyped for a week for something many of us won't be able to participate in. They should have called it an American community event, at least there we'd have known what to expect.

Exactly. Let's not forget about a HUGE clock countdown that the GAMING community has following for days, someof us hoping that it would bring us new of something EPIC related to GAMES. An Epic DLC, Expansion, Sequel. I really don't care for toy soldiers and stuff like that. Game for me is what I can play in my PC. I love BW's games since BG and their waste of time and effort to make this Epic thing into a total failure for the largest part of the GAMING community, is disappointed.

5 months waiting for some bugs to be erradicated, terminated, anihilated and nothing. But a bazaar they're pretty fast to make happen? And what about the server crash at 0:00:00:00 ? Shouldn't they be prepared for some huge traffic? They invited their whole community to the party but when we came, the ballroom is too small to handle all the people and only US residents got their name in the guest list? So, why invite us at all? And for a party that is not starred by major artists, like DA or ME actual game stuff. But by some secondary band that most of us haven't heard about, do not care about and was sold to us as an Epic band.

I came to a Led Zeppelin concert and found it was "Repolho Nervoso" (or Nervous Cabbage) playing. have you heard of them? Me neither! And I can't get into the concert because my name is not in the list. Ok, I don't want to get into that anyway. I want to know why was I invited and spent 6 days in a queue to be barred at the door.
