Way to ignore the actual reason people are upset.  Derp?

Yep... and ignore the fact that we were all invited to some EPIC event, spent 6 days on a queue for admittance and what? what? The event is far from Epic and we had the door shut right in our faces!

And I invite you to come to the States; doesn't mean I'm going to pay your way or that doesn't mean that you automatically qualify. An invitation certainly doesn't guarantee passage.

This is a sad fanboy attempt of defense.

So it was in fact an "Countdown to an epic community event with half the community". Great. I understand the limitations but there should be options for residents of other countries/regions. Maybe not as "good" as the main thing but options non the less. You just split the community. I'm disappointed.

Some people even doubt it's half the community, too.

It's not fanboy defense. It's freakin reality...

I'm sorry but if you bought DLC just to get tokens or wasted a few oh so terribly valuable minutes tweeting for tokens; you really are grasping at imaginary straws.

Translation : "I created an account today with no registered games so I can troll topics while totally avoiding the main issue"

I feel comprehensively disrespected. After 23 pages I have a feeling I'm not alone. Hey maybe thats our epic community event! I've never felt so united...

I know there's realistic reasons why it's more trouble than it's worth to include everyone but since bioware are now part of EA, would it be SO hard to have some kind of seperate contest in the territories that EA trade in?

Even something as simple as "Non elligible members: We're really sorry that we had to exclude you, enter your email to go into the draw for one of 1000 copies of Shattered Steel from GOG.com"

Anything that doesn't make this look like a dick move...

Starscream is right. It has been fun anyway. Isn't it human nature to make the best out of a lousy situation and still be able to laugh at it?

At 0days:00hours:00mins:00secs ... it did not start... unless the Epic Event was the Server Crash... hmmm... come to think of it... it was Epic... FAIL!

So they advertised a community event, hyped us up by saying it's amazing but neglected to inform us it was only for Americans (florida / ny excluded). They added a countdown to hype us even more, then finally introduced it and say "Well, sorry you [non-americans (florida / nyc included)] but you're not part of the community."

I wouldn't be as bothered if it wasn't for the horrible advertisement, had they stated it was only for americans - it would've gotten some hatred, yes, but not nearly as full blown as this entire scene. They could've handeled themselves a lot better, but they didn't.

Saying they "invited" us to come to the states is just plain drawing at straws as well.

Bioware is a Canadian company...and then you exclude Canadians. It's not a legal issue. Your headquarters is in Canada. There's nothing preventing having the contest to run up here.

I'm so glad that I didn't stay up until 2am to see what the countdown was about (as I have work today). Instead I got up at 4:30am. This was worth the effort.

As a Canadian, I wouldn't be as bitter if they made the contest in Canadia as well but it's still completely wrong for them to have done what they did.

You should add that poll, http://social.biowar...500/polls/3908/ , with your video while you are at it.

I want to see over a thousand votes!

Do any of you know a thing about tariffs, taxes, and individual country's regulations on converting a fake currency (IE: tokens) into items worth real currency? Look at all hoopla going on about VAT and Second-life currency.

This isn't a straight up contest folks, and THAT is why non-US entities were excluded because of the massive amount of red tape and extra taxation that the winners and Bioware/specific manufacturers would have to pay, and the massive bureaucratic stink-hole that needs to be waded for an event like this.

It's a Canadian based company...not American....

You guys are all brilliant. Seriously. I love the (ex)BioWare community because you all know how to rally together for damn righteous causes. Let's make 'em hear us, whether they want to fix this or not.

United Nations of the Internet.

Except for the states.

Florida and NYC are okay, though.

Actually....no this is an EA operated website, all the current bioware sites are.
