Guys - Here the tip - Not everyone who can read Russian is Russian. As for you discussion, It is funny, that’s for sure but slow down on the profanities ok?

Про пришельцев идея является не плохой – EA является ненавидимой практически всеми игровым сообществом

fine, agreed
but Im pissed off anyway

Almost every one outside US and New York and Florida are upset

Bioware, just answer one question WHY THE HYPE?!?! Did none of you think it might be a bit excessive to have 3 countdowns?!?! REALLY??? Do you/EA hire marketing ppl fresh outa university? Could no one foresee the reaction? Honestly. I don't care that a canadian company cannot include canadian fans in their contests... but why the hype... ? Do you know, that from now on EVERY countdown by you will be a source of comedy for us? "They're probably counting down to a fart."

Cause that's what you did to your fans, you let one rip in our collective face.

and ofc even uneligible people can compete and earn pts ... so if they miss the "us only - florida, new york" part, they will find way more disappointment in the end with 12k pts for nothing :F

Just because it's a community event doesn't mean it's a community WIDE event, but that it isn't available to those who don't take part in the community.

Then why was it on MY bio page along with everyone else's?

If they were going to be SELECTIVE and only choose PREFERRED customers to participate..then they should have only advertised this "EPIC" event in the continental USA...

This event just fails in so many ways, and definitely lowers my esteem for Bioware and its marketing ploys.

Then everyone would be complaining that not only were they excluded, but BioWare was trying to HIDE it from them!!!

Really, this is one of those damned if you did damned if you didn't situations. The only way they could have made everyone happy would have been to find a way to include everyone. I can't speak as to why they didn't, I'm guessing it has to do with laws in various countries and the use of the points system. *shrugs* Do I personally, think it would have been better for it to have been a world wide event? Or for them to have seperate events for sections of the world? Sure, but I can see how that might not have been feasable. Do I understand why people are upset? Absolutely! I'm just trying to be a voice of reason in the maelstrom of ****storm that is this thread atm. People are taking this way too personally.

you can't be serious. When unfair things happen, it is the only right thing to openly talk about it.
Of course i am taking it personally if I've spent hundreds of dollars over the years on their products.

The problem is not that it is US specific, but that it was advertised as a community event, making no mention of regional issues. The feeling we are left with is that we are not a part of the community.

A simple "Americans only" tag under the "Epic community event" writing would have been enough for most of us to take one glance, stop caring and then go on our merry way. Hell most of us are so used to seeing something like that we would have forgotten it within a day instead of looking forward to it all week.

We shall see, we shall see. Can't really think of another reason why it might take place on twitter.

I'm in the US, not Florida or New York, but I would be pretty annoyed about these kind of US only promotions if I weren't. And Twitter... Why does every contest nowadays require Twitter? I don't need it. I don't send texts from my ancient cellphone. Can't you use facebook instead?

Probably, because today it isn't April 1, it's March 29...
And April Fool's doesn't exists in every country, only in a few ones. In Spain and a lot of other European countries, April Fool's isn't celebrated. So... where's the joke in something not celebrated in most of the countries where the joke should be funny?

If they weren't owned by EA, I might consider it possible,
but EA was behind such winning marketing as "Sin to
Win" for Dante's Inferno, which asked you to pester/
grope booth babes for prizes and photograph it.

not to mention people like me who devoted hours to translate Baldurs Gate serie (oh hi 8MB of text in BG2) for all the fans in our country (and we did way better job than the people who do it for money ... lol Mass Effect 2 translation :F )
