Limiting this to parts of the US only implies that people outside of the US don't matter to bioware at all, they are not part of the community or fans.

That's very dramatic, very whiny, and very overstated.

What it implies is that the legal issues of contests that span different countries, and the difficlties of international shipping were more important than your feelings.

No, it isn't overstated at all.  Since they obviously knew it was going to be a US only event, they could have easily called it a "Special Event for our US fans!" or something similar, and NOT pissed off the majority of the world.

This really , I can understand it being for US only but they really should of said beforehand

Also as for the WoW stuff---I do stand corrected and concede that specfic argument. But it still supports my point that Blizzard, which is an internation company, uses differnet regions because its to much effort to try and use one time events for an international community. Same goes for servers, patches etc. My info was outdated with that previous WoW argument.

With something like EA backing them Bioware should have been able to create another, more international contest. But seeing as this is the first time Bioware has done something like this--auction based contest thing-- (As far as I know), then in future years it will most likely gain a larger global spread.

With this you seem to be say that either Bioware aren't commercially active internationally or that they don't realise they are.

Funny cartoon though very fitting.

BioWare does make great games. Doesn't mean that everyone is going to blindly ignore a very big blunder in a community event.

I actually did create my account today, to see what the token system was because you had to register. I am active on general gaming community so i don't have time to come to developer specific sites that much. But Bioware is one of my favorite developers... but that doesn't matter right? I mean, even if i have played there games for YEARS, if i haven't had an account on this site for a long time, i am not worthy!

Please read my above post and flame me!!! PLEASE! haha

I could put "Bioware makes great games" as a post and people would flame it in blind anger.

Well wouldn't that please you immensely?  I mean..after all isn't that what you are here for...Attention be it positive or negative?  :D

I think I have your number. :)

I suspect they were thinking about waffles. I know when I am thinking about waffles I make a mess of what ever I am doing at the time.

Addiction, you are ALWAYS thinking about waffles... so does that mean you are always making a mess of things?

Hmmmmm... I never thought of it that way. That explains a lot.

I do think I see a lock or some warnings incoming soon.  I am sorry for those that got screwed with this and feeling are running on the hot side right now but try to be a little more civil to your fellow forumites :)

That is it! That is exactly what they should have done. Is it so difficult to acknowledge that the US is not the Whole World?

It's not even a US-only event. I would have been more sympathetic to you guys if it were. The restrictions are obviously based on the ease of legality.

I live in the same city as the Bioware head office, yet I'm ineligible. That makes all of no sense.

The only bright side to any of this is that there's no way I could accidentally end up with a Shepard statue. Still very disappointed, Bioware. Very, VERY disappointed.

You notice how it says two US states are excluded? Being a US citizen doesn't mean you're part of the contest.

You notice how only US citizens can participate?  That is pretty much the definition of "US only"
