Hey, who else was excited over the new BioWare Bazaar Contest? I know I was.... Till I decided to look at the information and rules... And then I was very disappointed.
Eligibility. This Contest is only open to residents of
the 50 United States and the District of Columbia with the exception of
residents of Florida and New York, who are 18 years of age or older at
time of entry and who had Internet access as of March 15, 2010
BioWare is a Canadian electronic entertainment company founded in February 1995 located in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
"To show our appreciation of fan support and to celebrate the 15th anniversary of BioWare, we have created the BioWare Bazaar"
WTF Bioware? How is it that a Canadian company does a contest celebrating their 15th Anniversary and make it only for US residents? Why not also make it for Canadians too?
Anyone else want to state something about this event or add anything else?
Any other Canadians feeling like they just got sucker punched in the head?

I was actually very excited about the countdown. As for I live in Europe, realizing now this event is only interessting for US habitants, this is realy a big disappointment.
Why not doing somthing including the other bioware-fans around the world aswell?

Think that EA is to blame for this... Wish Bioware laughed at EA like Rockstar did when EA wanted to buy them... Honestly EA is a cesspool of marketing failures

It's because of EA. They're a US company.

Another disappointed fan - this time from Australia. I can understand not being allowed to bid on the electrical stuff (it would explode) but pretty sure the other merchandise would of been fine.

As I Said in another thread, this has really made me start to reconsider what was a guaranteed pre-order for Kotor online and any other Bioware product that came along.
The part that bothers me is that with the hype they put out about this, it seems clear that Bioware views its only REAL market place as the US. This leads me to believe that Europe will get a massive dose of sloppy seconds in terms of support.
I recently stopped playing wow, one thing blizzard learned and did well after a year or so was support as much of the WORLD market as they could, sure the US support was always better but the EU was pretty close.
This statement suggests to me Bioware wont be making that same effort, and if thats the case, I may end up giving Cryptic or some one else my currently up for grab MMO subscription money.

Seriously, wtf were they thinking? And why is stuff like this always for people in America?
Are they trying to tell us that if someone from Europe or Canada wins it will cost too much money to ship the prizes we can win?
If they really wanna celebrate and show their thanks to their followers then dont restrict events like this from the rest if the world.

They should be expatriated for non-respect of the canadian values. Canadian always try to make everyone happy. They are not canadian!

Australian here and adding my voice to the disappointment. I adore BioWare games and have for years, and yet evidently the company doesn't consider me one of the "fans" they are celebrating with. Surely they could have found some local companies around the world willing to be the shop front to hold and send out prizes to make the celebration world-wide?

Think Bioware is mainly making games and stupid EA takes control of the rest. EA marketing like in other EA games is just terrible. Heck I'm almost expecting EA to make Bioware apologize although it's EA's fault so Bioware will take the heat and EA will skip off. Heck I'd pay a hitman to take out the marketing branch in EA... heck might as well the head EA too. A lot of fans were really hurt by this...

As someone who actually LIVES in Edmonton, I am majorly disappointed.
I mean, I understand it's more likely EA's fault, but still, sucks hard.
