And none of us Canadians are elligible for this Bazaar Contest?... This really doesn't compute guys. I realize that over time all companies refer to themselves as being international ( which probably makes this worst mind you ). I was pretty excited when I saw what was being Auctioned and the Twitter replies are fun; but this feels like a genuin punch to the gut.

I live in Vancouver, practically your Canuck neighbor in Edmonton. Can't even begin to imagine how Bioware's Edmonton based fans must be feeling right now.

In the end you guys probably had some legal issues to deal with. Thanks anyways...:crying:

(Still sad tho =p )

I think that in the case of Canada, Florida, and New York, it was local legal issues that flummoxed things for all of you.  Can't guess what the deal was for the rest of the world, though.

In the case of Canada it's usually the province of Quebec that has more restrictive laws. The rest of Western Canada is more compliant with lottery type laws for these kind of things. I dunno. Just majorly disappointing.

I live in Quebec. Canadian contests exclude us all the time (the contest laws here are restrictive I suppose - the information and prizes have to be compliant with language issues). Why BioWare couldn't just at least include the ROC, I'll never understand. At least, they could have done that. At least.

I'm Canadian and utterly pissed but I will love Bioware for their games not for some auction but if they should at least apologize for forgetting people outside of the US. C'mon like what company forgets their homecountry..?

Copy pasta'd from another forum post of mine but I'm going to guess one of three things:
Legal Issues
EA just doesn't like Canada/EU/Asia/NY and Florida anymore and told Bioware to go **** themselves when they were going to include Canada/EU/Asia/NY and Florida
Lack of prizes for that many people.

I just feel totally left out, as a Canadian I also feel let down by a Company who has garnered my support since the very beginning only to be slapped in the face as being non-consequential to the gaming community who supported Bioware for so long. I utterly can't believe that the co-founders would agree with this kind of bull imposed not only on their Canadian Brethren but on every single Gamer out there who has ever played and loved their games. Shameful to say the least.

I'd have figured they could at least have included Canada (excluding Quebec) if they made it all good n' legal-like by asking one of our famously difficult skill testing questions... such as (4 + 8) - (3 x 9).

At least I've come to expect disappointment from countdowns elsewhere.

They are 6,811,600,000 people on earth, 308,971,000 which are american. This is 4.5% of the world. Actually, this is all a lie. There is only 308,971,000 human on earth, the rest is just strange walking and talking meatbag with the only goal to look a little bit like the 308,971,000 REAL human. This is Bioware and EA point of view.

This is incorrect.
We Americans never actually wonder why  the rest of the world is so hostile.
If anything the rest of the world hates us for our freedoms.

Yeah, but when the sh&T hits the fan in their own country who do they call for help? I'll give you a hint, it's not Canada! :P They call the USA to bail them out!

BioWare are now owned by EA, who are American. I assume what happened is that they didn't want to deal with any potential legal issues that would arise out of covering multiple countries, so they just picked the biggest one available. Not that it makes it any less shortsighted or offensive for the fans, of course.

Hmmm strange, I've spoken to some Americans that did wonder about this.

Ah yes, your freedoms. http://en.wikipedia...._Press_(report) . My country scores better than yours. We win.

The USA doesn't give a **** about us. All they care about is the balance of power. They would have just as easily joined the other side at WWII (Trumans own words).
