Not that this is necessary. But it would be fair.classes like the infiltrator and soldier gets better surviability and weapon damage when they use adrenaline rush or cloak.

I think the vanguard should be able to fire his/her shotgun as he/she charges so the pellets surpass the speed of light and become tachyons, utterly annihilating the first solid object they hit and blasting the target out of existence.

Fair?  I thought the Vanguard already had the best advantage over any class with Charge alone.  Does the Vanguard need more?

The Vanguard is the only class that can instantly reach point-blank range on their target. Indirectly, that is the DPS boost.

What does that link have to do with Vanguards and Charge?

I thought all time dialations, AR, Charge, and the Infiltrator's Passive, lead to a damage boost to make up for the lowered RoF.

I think the board has a spammer or social engineer ... apparently one advertising Bioware products. typically something like this is used by companies to increase chatter on boards about their products but this is so inept either Grunt420 is the laziest marketing employeee on this planet* (maybe the solar system) or just being a(n) <insert for letter word>.

* Sad but true, on most boards you can count on at least one schill being there to point people to thier site or product. The bad ones strain cedulity with their references. "You like water! Wow that reminds me of how much I love 'Battlefield Earth' starring John Travolta and Forrest Whitaker." The good ones know how to guide a thread to thier topic then fill in the plugs.

Time to report Grunt420, he/she/it has popped up in a few threads.

Shepard goes no where near the speed of light. Even if he did, this is just silly and utterly impossible.

Don't believe me?

I figured it out.  He's trying to get tokens for the Bioware Bazaar.

Well, err, Jack is supposed to be a vanguard, right?

Since you just charge right in front of somebody and weapons do more damage when closer it technically is a damage boost.

Heavy Charge is basically free point blank damage + Adrenaline Rush + Shield Boost + Throw, I'd say any more bonuses and it would basically become God Mode.

Incidentially, I just started another non-Vanguard playthrough and boy, do I miss Charge.

The bigger question is, how does a vanguard survive the charge itself? I mean I know when I run into something at walking speed it hurts a little bit, running into a person with charge wouldn't feel good I imagine.

just sayin

well, not all distance. I tested it. it is only short distance. during the battle in Miranda loyalty mission, there is some kind of container move in between floor. you can't charge to go over there to destroy. sometime, it's sucks. I don't know why Vanguard class can't have any assault rifle at all. something is missing. you know what's funny? before going to battle, there are some short movie. then you see even adept, vanguard class have assault rifle at that moment. I think that bioware has to fix this. if they have it in like movie, why not carrying on real battle? short gun is not enough. I finished all without short gun. come on, give me that assault rifle to these classes.

And therefore remove one of the key advantages of the Soldier class. AR training is great as a bonus power, but not as a standard power for every class. And Charge/Shotgun has never failed me. You can charge from any distance (see: Colssus fight). The class is already an offensive beast without adding more tools of destruction.

Charge is fun, but it can get buggy if the target's even slightly more elevated than you.

All weapons get a damage bonus for point blank range. Once you have heavy charge and can slow down time, you can line up headshots with the shotgun and that's enough (unless you're on Insanity).

I wouldn't mind the shield boost lasting a little longer though. It sucks to charge in, shoot your target, and see 3 dudes come running around the corner.

dont think so. there is no reason behind it. it only increases your speed, to dash or glide to a certain place while reduce your exposure time.

ANd regarding firing while moving....I dont have any problem with it, as long as your aiming reticule goes as far as your tv allows because no matter what ability you have you should not be able to hit anything.

IMO, only thing the Vanguard trully lacks is a class native shield/barrier dampener. The other two hybrid classes do...

If only BioWare could replace Cryo ammo for Disruptor ammo, that'd be glorious.

Heck, I'd be happy to have disruptor as bonus power!

The way it is now, I'm stuck with Zaeed... =(
