Ya know, every tutorial I seem to find on wiki will acknowledge the existence of certain things, and tell you that you will 'worry about them later', and later never shows up. Wiki in general seems to assume alot of things about your understanding of the toolset, and very rarely gives instructions that are step-by-step and clearcut enough for someone without much knowledge of the toolset to fully grasp.

That being said, when creating a level, there are 4 boxes displayed on the second window.

Desired width (east/west)
Desired height (north/south)
Base mesh resolution (m)
Chunk size (m)

1) Why is it that no matter what number i place in the width/height boxes, the level appears with exactly HALF that number? (for example, if i choose 64x64, then there are 32 grid squares from left to right, and 32 from north to south - I was under the impression that 64x64 meant ... well, 64x64).

2) What is a good recommended size (in heigth/width) for a small town?

3) Base mesh resolution in meters ... how is the resolution affected by increasing / decreasing the number?

4) What the hell is a chunk, and why do i care what size it is? :P

well the default is 64x64 but with resolution 2m that's 32x32 cells each with a side of 2 meters.

so if the resolution is 2 meter you allways get half the number of squares.

2) enough to hold it. make a rough plan on paper.

3) it's how big each mesh square is, you can allways tessalte minor areas that need higher resolution. the bigger area you make the higher resolution you will need. (performance and memory footprint)

4) is a chunk of cells and it's like a larger grid, usefull when planning at a bigger scale.

ah, not that difficult when it is explained well, thank you.
