Anders is... dull.
He is one-dimensional, almost as much as Oghren. There is *no* dialogue he does not turn into a lame joke.
Even important issues are turned into a silly joke. You do not learn practically anything about his past, or why he hates the Chantry or Circle... just a couple of opportunities for a bad joke.
He also does not makes much sense... why would he agree with Wynne? Characterisation screw-up right there.
I *wanted* to like him... but he becomes very, very "light"... too much to have an actual character. No conflict, no issues.
His starting piece of dialogue sets him up as Bart Simpson... and he never moves far from cartoon.
Now, Nathaniel and Justice and Sigrun, even Velanna, actually had *some* minor substance. Anders is "just" a joke.

I liked him, he was funny, a bit flirty but not too much, and anything to keep from having to take V girl along. I suspect that if he'd had more time onstage, he'd have had more depth. Remember how Zev came across at first? Once you chatted with him (or chatted up), you discovered that there was more to him than first glance indicated.

I liked Anders and I think he kinda like female pc too >_>'
I prefer him over Velanna because he isn't hating everyone just like Velanna, he wants freedom and be able to go anywhere when he want to. It's easy to understand him, living in a prison for more than 20 years must be awful.
His french voice actor isn't bad but something is a bit off wich break a bit the magic.
Because of that he is the first of my compnion who reached 100 friendship without me giving a lot of gift O_o

That's odd, he doesn't really joke around when my pc talk to him seriously and he like to be taken serious instead of Orgren who dislike it when you take things seriously all the time.He is one-dimensional, almost as much as Oghren. There is *no* dialogue

He may be able to accept the lifestyle for himself, but certainly does not want to impose it on those around him.
No. I don't. I find this to be very selfless. He's willing to allow himself to be hunted and possible killed by the templars to secure his freedom, but he does not want to impose the rigors of his choice on others. He understands that change must happen over time. He simply does not wish to wait for this change to secure his own freedom. He is sensible, but impatient.
Selfless would be him putting others desires before his own. In this case it would be him having kept his little butt within the tower, working for the slow change in the system to allow mages as a whole to gain their freedom. All his escape attempts provides cannon fodder to increase and tighten their watch on mages. It is no diffrent then Wynn doing her best to live her entire life away from the circle, but speaking of the need to keep everyone else who isn't her close to the circle.
That said I like my selfish friend. He was funny and smart!
So you're saying that Anders should allow his personal rights to be trampled and hope that by participating in virtual slavery and imprisonment that he can effect change. Tell me, would you allow yourself to be locked up simply because you were born different?
