A suggestion for Bioware to add some atmosphere and team spirit on the Normandy in ME3

There are a lot of SciFi TV series (SG Atlantis, Firefly, etc.) in which the major characters spend some spare time together, talking, gambling, exercising or just hanging around. In ME Shepard seems to be the only one who seeks the company of his crewmates.
Wouldn't it be better and maybe more realistic if for example Tali would visit Joker in his cockpit to talk about old times or starship technology? Or if Shepard would bump into Jacob and Garrus discussing about favorite weapons or fighting maneuvers, Thane and Samara philosophising in front of the window of the observatory lounge? There are lots of possibilities to deepen the emphasis with each squadmember - future and current ones...

Legion vs. Mordin playing cards in the mess hall.

I just like the colour-scheme and design better. Also also, background music selectable throughout the whole ship.
Well, visual and atmospheric customisation in general would be pretty cool. Being able to change parts like the galaxy map's presentation and function, for example.
But seriously (and less tangentially), I think the reason they mostly stay where they are is because they tend to have a function as part of the ship's crew in whichever area they are in.
Not that I wouldn't like to see them interact.
Also, characters walking around the ship got a little irritating on the Ebon Hawk.

I prefer characters didn’t wander around but it would be nice if they were placed at different location (depending on your progress) around the ship. Have your terminal show each squad members’ current location and have them marked on your map.
Or simply ask EDI!

Honestly, I would be happy if the squad mates simply talked to each other like how Kenneth and Gabriella converse between missions. For example, it would be cool if Garrus occasionally visited Tali on the engineering deck simply to tease her, or Grunt chatting up with Jack about killing. Other examples could involve Tali visiting Legion and debating the conflict between their people, or Mordin trying to do crazy experiments with several members of your squad, and well, you get the picture.
It would definitely give more life to the Normandy, and more importantly, give more life to all of the characters, because it would show that these characters interact with more than just Shepard.

Another thing along the same that I would like to happen that involves conversation is more group interactions. What I mean by this is more people talk instead of just you and whoever. Without trying to spoil anything, a good example would be during Thane's recruitment mission. Once you get to the end and talk to a certain someone, it's only you and that person talking. I like it when your squad chimes in during those scenes and adds to the discussion. A previous poster mentioned Kenneth and Gabriella, those engineers. It was fun to listen to them squabble while talking to them. Another point where this is interesting from ME 1 is when you talk to Chakwas and the guy who dies on the first mission right off the bat(can't remember his name) or when your talking to the Council(as unpleasant as that is).

Actually, sometimes the sqaud would respond to eachother in the recruit/loyalty missions and main missions, but it would be a simple convo interrupt or just a chime in to say something. But yea full on convos with eachother or them visiting eachother on the Normandy could be interesting. Or even better, actual arguments or convos as you walk around a loaction like the sqaudmates did back in KotOR would be even more awesome.arcelonious wrote...
I agree, I really hope that we see more of the characters interact with each other in Mass Effect 3. In Mass Effect 2, the character "confrontation" scenes were good, but it's a shame that they were about the only interactions that we got to see between the squad mates.
I could see it now, Grunt dissagreeing with Jack and getting into a heated argument.

Yes, I do enjoy those little interactions during conversations, as well as when you bring certain people on missions (e.g., Zaeed and Grunt in Garrus's recruitment mission, Mordin in Grunt's recruitment, Grunt in Jack's recruitment, Garrus in Thane's loyalty mission, etc.), and on some random side quests as well. Nevertheless, it couldn't hurt if Mass Effect 3 included even more interactions, especially on the Normandy.

They could plan some kind of epic team event
you know to bring the team together
With a timer to countdown to it, just so they know when its happening.....

This, I think, would be the best solution. you didn't havea map in ME2, if they add it back in so it operates like it did in ME1 this would work great. I think it would be fun to have certain times in the story's progression where you would talk to certain people 2 or 3 at a time.
As an example: You finish a plot-forwarding assignment, you come back to the normandy and Garrus is in the mess hall talking with the nameless crewmembers. You have to kind of tap his shoulder to get him to turn away from his previous conversation
I'd also like to see different times on the ship. Whenever you are on the normandy it's like it's 3 in the afternoon. I wouldn't mind it if at certain times it's mealtime, so you would find most of the people in the mess hall with food on the table, or after a certain mission it's late at night on the ship and some people are in the sleep pods

I assume that Bioware didn't want to work hard, that's why they didn't really implanted this things.

I like your idea of creating the illusion of a time cycle, instead of the crew appearing penned and tethered. I hope this would solve some of the issues I have with the Normandy crew, like with crewmen Patel & Rolston who seem to spend all their time in the crew’s quarters.
