I've been thinking about some of these ideas for a while now, and I believe it would REALLY help with the immersion and bring more life to the game.

I've also been thinking, you know how Joker sometimes chimes in with a comment without being prompted if you just hang around the cockpit for awhile? Why not have some of this for your squad mates as well? Maybe have Garrus say something about the SR2s weapon systems or think aloud about what he's doing, etc.

Yep, or how about Tali and Kasumi would go out for a girl's night on the citadel (they're both of almost the same age) or Garrus and Jacob have a sparring workout while Samara and Thane playing chess or philosophizing together? The possibilities are endless and it would add so much depth to the game!

I agree, even if it's something small like in Dragon Age, with the interaction with your dog and the other teammates. That's one thing I would love to see implemented in Mass Effect 3, it would surely benefit the user in making them feel like they are actually in the game.

this would be cool. i posted pretty much the same idea in the mammoth ME3 wishlist thread ages ago but I think it's a good enough idea to deserve it's own thread.

People moving around the normandy would be nice.

In fact, people moving anywhere would be nice. The NPCs in mass effect are so static. Play assassin's creed with it's lively cities of moving crowds, then go on the citadel. Not the same.

More party chatter in general would be great. This kind of interaction would be really neat. Of course, I can see myself obsessively walking through the ship between every mission to make sure I don't miss out on any conversations.

If there was one thing I REALLY wish the ME3 team were to pick up from Dragon Age, it would be the party banter/interations with Shepard, other characters, and random comments on the levels...

I was REALLY hoping for some more party banter during ME2's suicide mission, for example... Like when you're heading towards the final boss, maybe your teammates could comment on the vista, and even when you're AT the final boss...

With ME2, I just felt like there were a lot of great opportunities for party banter that were missed.

Good idea. If I remember correctly there were something similar to this (not 100% similar) in KOTOR2.

Ever since the first game I had always hoped that Mass Effect would adopt the KotOR 2 practice of having small cutscenes involving companions triggering whenever you returned to The Normandy.

Yep, small cutscenes when you enter the ebon hawk, although a lot of it was arguments between squadmates. But that's a great thing.. it shows that the crew is more human that you'd think. I would have loved more arguments between squadmates in ME2, they had the perfect setup: a high-stress suicide mission.

As well as in Baldur's Gate as fas as I remember, Bioware seems to have some kind of tradition in this matter, the more surprised I was to find ME2 lacking this most atmospherical feature.

May be it was something to do with the budget / time limitations etc...

Sounds good in theory, then again ME2 squad members have little in common and just because they do not try to kill each other does not make them friends. The ME2 squad members are generally individualists, thats just who they are, thats part of the reason Cerberus recommended them and Shepard recruited them.

Wasn't there a dialog option when talking to Thane that went something along the lines of "Get to know the crew, their pretty diverse and you must have something in common with someone."?

You are correct... but they are live beings (Legion is an exception).... So if you are inside a ship like SR2, do you wish to stay in a single place doing the same thing over and over again? I think BW may have already coonsidered this but dropped the idea because this is not a "Key" feature.

Yeah, you almost have to force him and even then, who would he talk to? Kelly?

Most of them do not mind.
The only more friendly guy is Jacob and even he is more likely to hang out with the Cerberus crew than with other squad members (and Kasumi, but she is DLC). Well, maybe Mordin, but he seems to be too busy doing some crazy research.
Maybe it was meant to be there, but was dropped for some reasons, but as it is, it does make sense.

I get a veeeery Star Ocean-y Private Action vibe from this... which isn't a bad thing! (Well it would be if you were forced to watch them while in space transit. Ugh.)

Who knows? That's just speculation. I bet the squadmates socialize with each other when Shepard leaves the ship.

Maybe but who with whom? Other than Jacob, Kasumi and maybe Zaeed?

Good suggestion and worth the effort imo. Every other RPG basicly has rudamentary day cicles for NPCs that would also randomly talk to each other. That would be a start.
